Casa da Bichaca

We were so pleasantly surprised that aside from staying in the building with 3 bedrooms the booking also included full access to the big building with kitchen, living room and pretty garden (with BBQ!). Style-wise the interior was a tiny bit dated but definitely looked good and the whole building was well maintained. We stayed in 3 different accommodations in the Douro area and this one definitely was the best one price-quality wise. The house contains things like washing detergent, dishwasher tablets, oil etc. and Jorge was great in his communication. Also: the outside area is beautiful. The garden is right next to a vineyard. It was the ultimate holiday feeling.

The beds were 'ok' but the mattresses might not please everyone. And we had bad luck when we took the mountain bikes out for a ride, 1 km from the accommodation a pedal completely fell of, so I had to walk back (luckily not too far). It's a remote place, so make sure you bring some groceries and enjoy your time there.

It's a fantastic, beautiful and well-kept property. We enjoyed staying there very much! The main house has an amazing living-room, with a fantastic view of the landscape. The 3 bedrooms in the guesthouse are very cute! We as a couple enjoyed the peacefulness of the location, but the house is also perfect for a big family. Senhor Moura was a very nice host, who was very dedicated to making sure, that we enjoyed our stay.
