Reef House Resort

Booked this place as the last night of a longer trip, it was great and wish we had longer to stay there. Great staff, delicious food and picturesque. It is a quieter part of the island and we had a great time.

Amazing people- treated like family! I can’t say enough about this place- nothing fancy but will definitely return- boat ride to the floating bar with our new friends Becky, Mr. Rick, Bush, Capt. Ryan and all the wonderful people! Brunetta and Keith took great care of us! I hope I’m not forgetting anyone! If you go here- even for a few days you will have a great time! Like I said- nothing fancy but I loved it!

The location is nice with a swimming area in front of the hotel that is blocked off by a small seawall so it’s shallow and protected. Good shrimp tacos.

Be prepared for a longer and expensive journey to the hotel - it’s about $40 from the airport and then you have to get a water taxi out to the hotel another $3-$5. It’s more rustic and run down than the pictures depict and the description is not accurate (e.g. I reserved a sea view room, but in actuality, you have to leave the room in order to see it, no TV or Wi-Fi in the room ). There is only one room that has an actual sea view. I don’t mind rustic, but paying $100/night for this level of rustic is inconsistent with the quality. For that price, I also feel like you should get maybe throw in a couple eggs or something for breakfast. You only get coffee included. It says there’s a flat screen TV and Wi-Fi neither which I had in my room which was very problematic since I work PT online and could not work since the only place I could get Wi-Fi was out in a crowded outdoor deck on a picnic bench, with a lot of noise, weather, and bugs to contend with. There is nothing around in terms of restaurants and groceries so you have to have all your meals at the on Property restaurant. I suppose this is all fine if you’re just prepared for it, but the write up does not accurately let you decide whether it will work for you before reserving. For example, if you want to be remote and stay in a rustic place. I just think the price and descriptions should reflect this.

Staff made you feel like family and other guests became fast friends. It was relaxing and exciting. Eat. Swim. Drink. Socialize. Hammock. Snorkle. Dive. Drink. Sleep. Repeat.

Mosquitoes. No hot showers. I got over both but bring repellent.

I LIKED THE LOCATION AND THE INFORMAL ATMOSPHERE, ONE FELT GOOD THERE. GOOD CROWD, ETC

Toilets didn’t work which was a large problem. Not a single comfortable chair except the 2 sun lounges.
