The location was unsafe and unkept. This is a motel, not a hotel. The actual “hotel” does not match the pictures on their site. The first room I was given was not cleaned so I walked across a major road with no sidewalks or pedestrian-crossing, so I can buy cleaning supplies at the dollar store to clean THEIR ROOM THAT I PAID FOR. I asked for a non-smoking room, but it smelled of cigarette smoke. And there was a bunch of men sitting outside on the second floor all staring down at me as I walked to my room, so I had to circle around twice to ensure they didn’t see which room I went into. I immediately looked for another hotel, but they were all booked for the Dreamville weekend; I only booked this hotel because they were close to the park. And the hotel knows this so they price gouged to match the other hotels in the area. But the other hotels are not undergoing new management and construction. This is what I had a problem with. The new motel owners spent what seemed like a good chunk of money on security cameras and a new TV for the front desk but failed to buy new bed sheets and fix the holes in the walls. I was so tired from traveling and trying to find another hotel so I slept on the chair, woke up at 2:45am only to find roaches all over the shower, the room and floors. I went to the front desk but no one was there at that time. Then first thing in the morning I made a complaint and the owner immediately offered a refund, knowing I had no where else to go. I demanded a new, clean, smoke free, roach free room. Then around 2pm I finally got a slightly better one. Lastly, I asked for a refund for my first night stay to which I was denied and told that I spent the whole night. So I asked for a discount, again denied because I booked through booking.com, and not directly on their site. Needless to say, don’t say I didn’t warn you. Keep scrolling! Matter of fact, stay away from any hotel that has “Days Inn” in the name. (P.S.
