Spark by Hilton Salem East Electric Road

The room had a terrible musty smell. The carpet was torn and stained in the hallway. The staff was very polite and the breakfast was very good.

We stayed at this property one night on our way through. Overall it was passable. The beds were comfy and clean, but the room itself needed attention. The front desk staff was attentive, but they seemed to be the only people on the job when we arrived. We slept well. Breakfast was passable, but the breakfast staff was inattentive, and the amount of waste from the breakfast dishes was a bit disturbing. The property seemed very tired, like it was once very nice, but has fallen on hard times and the current owners don't care about it. It's okay for a single night, but it felt like we were overcharged for what we got. We will most likely not stay there again.

The rooms roof had damage, and mold. The shower had cracks in it and was unable to be used as if you stepped into it you felt as though you would fall through it. The bathroom had a towel in it from the prior guests in a corner. Also the bed was super hard and uncomfortable. The manager was a jerk and refused to give us our money back even though we couldn’t get cleaned up. Would NOT recommend

We had a very poor experience with this property. The staff were the only good part. Check in took over 30 minutes, because there was a long line, and only one staff. The room was very poorly maintained. I don't mean dated, that's not a big deal, but broken stuff, stained items, things falling apart. The room was so damp and musty. The bath towels almost felt damp from it. The entire first floor area we were in reeked of marijuana and cigarette smoke. All the way down the hallway and into the rooms. The couch in the room was very dingy. We had planned to use the pullout bed, but we didn't feel comfortable with how dirty it was. There were people noisily arguing in the hallway all night. I would definitely not stay again.
