Delta King Hotel

This hotel is SO cool. I mean it’s a room on a boat, on the river. Small but very cozy room. It felt very pre-iceberg Titanic. The dining room was also very cool. Right in old town so walkable to restaurants, shops, etc.

The parking is valet only so it takes awhile to call for the car.

Location was good, close to where our event was held

Too loud! Walls too thin and sea lions outside window would not stop “barking”. This facility is of course historic and nostalgic… but not a great venue to sleep overnight.

Immaculate, great staff, beautiful bar, restaurant and fixtures throughout. Room had well-thought-out amenities and fixtures. Very impressed.

room 526. We returned to our room late in the evening, only to discover the door would not lock. Before I can call to the main front desk, a stranger, open the door, and attempted to walk in my room. I was able to stop them at the door and they quickly backed up and apologize, saying that they thought it was her room, but the door opened with their key! I attempted to lock the door several times and noticed the top of the door had at least a half inch gap at the top of the door. I in the morning called down to the front desk, and the young lady said she will have someone check it out. I asked for an exact time I can expect someone to secure my door because I have my personal items left behind. her reply was sometime after nine in the morning. I did not appreciate her nonchalant attitude!

I have been coming to the Delta King for years. My husband and I were boaters and we would come for lunch or a drink. Staff always wonderful and the ambiance is top rate. Now I stay every Polar Express season. I lost my husband but have wonderful memories. I look forward to seeing Karen, the housekeeper. She is the one constant from our years staying and she always gives me a big hug. Means so much to me.

My girlfriend was cold during the night and could not get the heater stop blowing cold air in her room, nor could she locate the extra blanket. Was disappointed that the restroom in the bar, the one I use when having breakfast was a mess. I think that should be cleaned when the bar closes, for the next morning.

Cute and quirky hotel in a convenient location in Old Sacramento. Convenient valet parking. Walking distance to DOCO. Accommodating staff that helped us with a room change request.

The sea lions on the river side were LOUD! Recommend light sleepers to stay on the city side.
