El Cid Marina Beach Hotel

We loved the El Cid Marina. First thing is if you want great seafood, this is the place to stay. There is a sport fishing charter that goes out of the hotel. The hotel kitchen usually gets the fish caught by the hotel guests using the charter. During my stay there, at least two big marlin were caught and given to the kitchen. At every meal, I made sure I made a beeline for the seafood. The ceviche on the weekends is amazing. Also when you are walking around the marina edge, look down, it is like visiting an aquarium. There are beautiful fish everywhere! I saw a pacific eagle ray jump out of the water at some point just walking down the canal next to the hotel. Not as big as a manta ray but apparently second largest ray in the world. The pools are great. There are large hot tubs, cold water pools with waterfalls, caves and rocks you can jump off of into the pool. There is a warm water pool at 94 degrees for the older folks and kids. The staff is great. If you have kids, they will randomly give the kids candy as gifts. Ok, yes maybe the wifi is spotty but as an IT guy its hard to get perfect wifi over a large area like a resort. Also if you are looking for upscale high end modern looking resort, this probably isn't it. This is a classic older resort that is well maintained. May not have all of the fancy whiz-bang stuff but still great. There is a semi-private beach that the hotel uses that is mostly clear of vendors (the enterprising ones still get there). The beach does have a rocky area that creates tide pools during low tide. Again, great for the kids.

We have had an amazing time here at El Cid. Everybody has been so friendly and welcoming. It's a very family type atmosphere here. We love the heated pool and all the activities around the pool put on by the fabulous activities team are great. Are room has an amazing view of the pool and harbour. The food is outstanding and we have been able to use all the amenities at all the resorts. We would highly recommend and looking forward to returning.

We enjoyed every minute of our Month here! We flew using a direct flight on Westjet from Edmonton, they picked us up and took us to the resort. From that point on the service and friendliness of the staff has been top notch! We really enjoy the food at the restaurants, one can go to the other ElCid resorts here to eat, or hang around at the pools! We especially liked the staff at the Calipso pool. The waiters are amazing, and the activity staff make sure you have something to do. I would like to mention that Dante and Isys were particularly welcoming and enjoyable to play games with them. The rooms are very comfortable, the Concierge staff are also amazing at getting tours and other activities arranged for you.

There are too many good things to say about this resort so I'll do my best. Check in was extremely smooth and efficient. Everything was explained well. We were assisted to our room by a very friendly and knowledgeable bellman who made sure we had everything we needed. The resort is laid out beautifully with walking paths from one end to the other. It takes less than 10 minutes to stroll but they also have golf carts if you'd like a ride. The view of the marina is gorgeous! The rooms are spacious and very clean and comfortable. There are 2 pools. One heated and one not. Each have their own bar and snack bar with incredibly good food and even better service. There's a hot tub and a couple of slides for both big and little as well as zero entry. The entertainment crew is awesome! They have bingo, darts, crafts, Spanish lessons, water volleyball, aquasize and more. The team is super friendly and encouraging without being pushy. They have a private beach just a short water taxi ride across marina (2 minutes) that has a lot of loungers, palapas and it's own bar/snack bar. During low tide you can walk for miles. The staff in every part of the resort are very mindful of not just their particular job but of the areas surrounding them. They take the time to visit with guests and truly care about them. The food is some of the best we've had. There are 2 restaurants. One is buffet with a menu option, the other is buffet at breakfast and a la carte in evening. We ate at buffet as the taste, choices and ambiance was exceptional. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this resort.

Every time I go back to El Cid Marina in Mazatlán it honestly feels like coming home. The people there are some of the nicest I’ve ever met — they always make me feel welcome and genuinely taken care of, not just “good service” but real warmth. The rooms were very clean, the views are incredible, and watching the sunset from my balcony is always a must. I went this time for a wedding, and it turned out to be the perfect place to recover afterwards — calm, comfortable, and easy. The staff couldn’t be kinder. I already can’t wait to go back.

All expectations were exceeded on our recent trip to Mazatlan! While there for a family event, we were also treated to what I can only describe as world-class service at every corner of this resort. Having traveled all over the world, I can easily say they have one of the best staff I have ever encountered. From the cleaning staff, to the front door staff, to the bartenders (thanks Christopher & Luis!) - the excellence was unmatched. A very special acknowledgment to Victor, an exceptional host whose warmth, attentiveness, and genuine care for every detail made our trip an absolutely unforgettable experience; Giovanni, a top-notch waiter; Claudia & Gabriel, who was able to fulfill any request; Daniel and Ramon, who made everything perfect at our event; Araceli, who kept our room looking immaculate; and the whole staff. Tengo muchas ganas de volver!

My experience in the hotel was great, fantastic service, fantastic food, fantastic people. I recommend people to vacation here.
