Horrmundsgården i Sälen

I loved the warm homely welcome, the freshed baked bread, and "grandmas waffles". My highlight was the meaningful conversations with other travellers and a traditional wood fire sauna under a wintry full moon - magic!

Tidy room, excellent breakfast, good facilities

We booked very late in the day and were the only guests there. Nonetheless we got a very warm welcome from the host. A most charming man with a lot of interesting stories. Great to learn more about Sweden and Iceland. We were only 2 for breakfast but still he made it like it was for 15 persons. His motto is, everyone deserves the same. Excellent breakfast as well. The region is very calm in a good way, we were only passing through, but you could spend a day here relaxing and finding some hikes or visiting some small towns.

Exceptionally good place to stay a night or longer.

Nothing, everything exceeded my expectations.

A very nice and cosy place. We stayed here for one week in March for downhill and cross-country skiing. Iris and Kristbjörn are lovely people and we enjoyed the place including the great breakfast served from 8:00 to 9:00. Try the selfmade jam and the waffles. There is a great and well equipped kitchen plus two saunas.

Not negative but you need to know, that some of the rooms are quite small and it is an old building, which means, that you may hear the other people. Since everybody is aware of this and people go to bed quite early it is no problem.

Clean Kitchen and big common areas

The Price level for addinal services is high. Sauna cost 200 SEK and it is not informed as a additional price. For comparison will a spa stay added to your room when on a hotel cost around 200 DKK. This is over priced for a woodfired sauna.
