Zum Checkin gegen 17 Uhr war niemand an der Rezeption und auch telefonisch nicht erreichbar. Als dann 10 Minuten später der Besitzer auftauchte, ging es aber recht schnell. Das Zimmer war leider etwas anders als erwartet bzw. auf den Bilder abgebildet. Insbesondere das Badezimmer in dem man aufgrund der Dachschräge gerade so stehen konnte und es spannend wurde zu Duschen, war etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig. Für eine Nacht gings... Parkplätze gibt es weniger als Gäste. Wir hatten Glück und konnten noch einen ergattern. Wenn man zu spät kommt muss man beim Supermarkt die Straße runter parken. Von der Schwarzwald Idylle rund herum blieb leider aufgrund der doch recht stark befahrenen Straße direkt unterhalb der Unterkunft nicht so viel übrig, weil man eigentlich nicht gerne auf dem Balkon verweilen oder bei offenen Fenster schlafen möchte.

Gemütliches Hotel. Sehr freundliches Personal. Schön renoviertes Zimmer, prima Frühstück. Werde wieder kommen.

We got there pretty late at 8.30pm. The receptionist had to wait for us, as he told us they usually close up the hotel and the reception at 7pm. We were rushed through, which worked well for us as we were very tired. The room was very spacious and with a great view, but the shower and the bathroom were quite uncomfortable as one had to bend down a bit to be able to get in the shower or even access the toilet.

Lovely hotel in a beautiful town. Really nice to end the day wandering around enjoying how beautiful the views are. Great room, lovely staff and the balcony had a great view.

Nice hotel in decent location. Staff were very friendly. Good breakfast. Only downside is the huge factory opposite and a fairly busy road which you can hear from the terrace

We stayed for two nights in the Petra hotel during a two week tour of Alsace and the Black Forest. The hotel was clean and well presented and in a your location to explore the local area. I must say that the friendliness of the staff and the advice given was first rate. The young man at the reception desk was courteous and humorous and made us feel at home in the hotel. It is important to know that the hotel issued us with tourist travel cards that we could use to get free local public transport in the Black Forest area. This is an excellent service that allowed us to take a trip to two neighbouring towns without worrying about buying the right tickets, having the right money etc. etc. I recommend the hotel for the location, the travel card and the excellent service from all of the staff, especially the guy at reception.

M-F stay. Staff was very kind and helpful. Good English and an easy check in. If you are coming as a tourist, they give you the Gäste Karte for easy public transport. Close walk from the baiersbronn bf, and right next to a bus station. Very close to hiking. Grocery store, bakery, and a few restaurants are nearby. We had one of the slightly larger double rooms, with a private balcony facing the garden. Clean, well made up, comfy bed, electric kettle with instant coffee and teas, mini fridge (which they stock up with a couple local sodas, water, and one day, beer.). We didn't have an issue hearing other guests, other than the room next to us unlocking their door (older heavy duty locks). Cons: a busy road can be heard nearby during the day, but we were gone most of the time, so it didn't bother us, but mentioning in case someone is looking for a very quiet, remote place. No air conditioning, but that is very typical for older German buildings. It is cool enough during the day and night to simply have your windows open or cracked. Wifi would sometimes cut in and out, but I was still able to stream videos and take one of my online classes with little lagging. I highly recommend Hotel Petra for the value and kind owners! If you are looking for a clean,cozy place to relax and sleep after a day of hiking or exploring, this is great. They also serve breakfast.
