The Cowdray Arms

Room was very clean and comfortable, staff friendly and helpful, good menu in the pub and lovely continental breakfast. We only stayed one night but would definitely stay again if in the area.

Great old style stable rooms outside of main pub building make for easy access and a great place to stay. If you need a room that’s way better than most hotels and like a little private cottage this is the place. Great coffee and a cafetière to allow for a brew and fresh milk and bottled water in a great fridge. Pub food also great, you can eat outside the room on the pub garden tables in the sun. Great for staying away with a dog.

The standard and cleanliness of the room was fine and we had a really nice Sunday lunch in the pub but unfortunately our stay was marred by the guests in the adjoining room who was playing trance music until the early hours. He was then violently and noisily sick in the early hours. The room also had a very bright fire exit light which illuminated the room and kept me awake. I did not sleep much at all, not the restful stay I had hoped for. Breakfast was adequate though the fresh fruits salad could have been fresher.Be aware that the rooms are located in the garden of the pub and could be noisy in the summer by people using the garden and the pub is located on a busy junction which got noisy early in the morning.

I really enjoyed my stay, everyone was incredibly friendly and I felt very safe as a sole female traveller in the accommodation and the pub in the evening.

I was a bit dubious when I found that breakfast was only a continental breakfast - wasn't made clear when booking on the hotels.com website. However, they made a good job of it and catered very well for our vegan requirements so no complaints.

Very comfortable accommodation. Norfolk suite is closest to the back of the pub. But noise was minimal. Great service in the restaurant and lovely continental breakfast in the morning. Cozy pub. I’d go back.

Good restaurant food

Great place to stay and very close to Gatwick Airport. You get everything you need in your room including a small TV, mini fridge, tea & coffee facilities. I was staying in the "Norfolk" room which was located opposite the main entrance - very cosy and good radiator - very important for this time of year (Jan). Food was very good, and sourced locally. The only thing that lets the place down is the bad wi-fi (1MB-3MB), and lack of 4G/5G. I would stay again though.
