Zhongshan Hostel

I had a great experience here where the location is nearby fenchihu town and the rail ways. The hosts are very nice to us, they instructed us where can take the bus and what time we need to go back from Alishan. They even took us to the bus to ensure we catch right bus to go. The room is very clean except the smell from rest room, but we can close the rest room door after using so it doesn’t matter.

The room was spacious and very clean, and while the bed was a bit firm, it was still comfortable. The elderly owner was very kind and welcoming, adding a personal touch to our stay, though she doesn’t speak English.

The main downside was the bathroom design. Without a separate shower area, the entire bathroom got wet after showering.

It’s a nice place. It’s near the old street. The bed was comfortable seemed like home.

The Owners are just lovely

Very lovely owner who went out of her way to welcome me and give me advice. Room was in very good condition. The location is very close to the bus/train station.

The owner is very friendly and kind. We really like the breakfast provided. Besides, the bed is also very comfortable.

My friendly host cooked a good hot breakfast. Although she didnt speak much english she was very adept at using google translate. She gave a map showing the forest trails and town plan. The bed was very comfortable with good quality linen. The TV worked. There were clean towels and tea and coffee were available in reception. Breakfast is from 7.30.

The bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor is a little bit dated in decor.

The location was great — right by the old street and trailheads! The owners were also lovely. They let us check out very early, and when we asked if they could help us find an early morning cab, they connected us with a driver who was able to take us to Alishan. Highly recommend!

The owner is a super nice, funny and helpful lady. Even though she doesn’t speak English, she came to me proactively on several occasions to help me figure out buses or even ask if she could lend me a jacket because of the cold weather. I got a pretty room with wooden walls, the bed was very comfortable, there is a desk and even enough space to lay down a yoga mat. The room and private bathroom were shiny clean. Breakfast was a Taiwanese buffet, mostly (if not all) vegetarian, very delicious.

I was there during winter and got quite cold as there is no heating system, but it might not bother those who don’t get cold so easily.
