"Tranquil escape"

We spent 4 nights at the Sonesta while attending a family event in Hilton Head and had a great time. The staff was professional and courteous. The atmosphere at the resort was very relaxing, we had direct beach access and there were several food options available on-site. When we experienced an issue with our room, Jermaine promptly brought it to the attention of Michael Insua, who went over and beyond to ensure we had an enjoyable stay. I highly recommend this resort.

We liked the proximity to the beach.

Our room was boiling hot. our bed was sandy when we checked in. The room smelled. The staff didn’t clean the hallway - we saw a cockroach that was sitting outside our room for 3 days and people’s glasses and plates were outside their rooms for the same amount of time. The staff were miserable. The front desk was not helpful. The food was terrible. For $500 a night, even given the location, you should expect more.
