The Centennial Hotel

The location was ok. I was a 30min ride away from the SNHU arena. Plenty of beautiful historical buildings to see. The continental breakfast, forced to get dressed and eat out. The bagels were extremely hard to the point I could not cut through to toast it.

The hotel was understaffed, so calling the front desk after hours was a little bit of a challenge. While staying at the hotel, my guest and I got bit by something. I tried for two days after my stay to reach management to further investigate the issue. I left messages for the manager who did not return my calls, and the GM, who also didn't return my calls. So if you try to reach them, no luck.

Two major issues: the restaurant was offering only a $78 fixed price Thanksgiving dinner - nothing else - and I had a problem at checkout. At 9:30am there was a sign that said that no one was available at the front desk, but please call 630. I did. No one answered. The room was spacious and well-appointed but noisy from surrounding rooms, the breakfast was not even average. The pastries were stale - I couldn't even cut a bagel. And only tiny bar napkins? I would expect more from a hotel of this reputation.

The coffee was very good, but we didn't eat because we wanted a sit down meal, so I can't comment on the food.

The building smelled musty, but I chalked it up to the age of the building. The rooms were very nice and modern (not musty at all) for the most part, but the shower tile could use bleaching...I did shower, but considered not doing it because it looked moldy. We made a reservation at the restaurant based on a quick look online before getting there. (the picture had white tablecloths, but it ended up being very industrial/hotel looking (no tablecloths to be seen), the waitress was lovely, but informed us they didn't have a bartender that night, and the menu was ridiculously sparse. We ended up down the road at The Common Man.

Comfortable bed and quality pillows!

Nowhere to hang extra towels in the bathroom. No privacy when opening the bathroom pull-down blinds. Maybe install translucent window coverings?

The breakfast area was not maintained and choices were minimal.
