Holiday Inn Express - Sault Ste. Marie by IHG

I had an amazing experience at this hotel. From the moment I arrived, everything exceeded my expectations. The sauna and jacuzzi were exceptionally clean and relaxing, offering a perfect way to unwind. The breakfast was good—not extraordinary, but definitely satisfying. The room was spotless, with no unpleasant odors, and everything felt fresh and well-maintained. Overall, the stay was perfect, and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, cleanliness, and a relaxing atmosphere. They should be more than 2 stars Min.3 or 4

There was one small issue I’d like to mention: the parking fee was only $6 CAD, which is very reasonable, but it would have been better if they had informed me in advance that there would be a charge. Also, the final bill was slightly higher than my original booking, but after I called the hotel, they handled it professionally and resolved the issue quickly. We’re all human, and sometimes small mistakes happen — what matters most is how they’re handled, and in this case, the staff did a great job. I truly appreciate their service and would definitely stay here again.

Good location. Only one elevator to service many rooms. Ran out of breakfast items and did not have refills. Replaced towels and took garbage but did not make beds. No mention of the lack of housekeeping. Overall it was fine. Staff was great!

Close to the railroad and river front

The staff were all so pleasant and nice to talk with. They were very attentive and happily helped us. The bathroom was small but clean and the bed and pillows were quite comfortable. The parking lot was fine and the building in a safe neighborhood, also it was quite close to the train depot, the lock trips, the Bush Plane museum and across the street from the mall. So overall a great location and a good place to stay.

The hotel is nice, I would have rated it higher, except the last two times I’ve stayed the smell in the elevator is bad. The room was clean, check in was great, customer service was perfect.
