Very disappointing stay. We checked in very late at night, and as soon as we entered the room, there was a very strong smell of cigarette smoke. This was especially frustrating because the hotel clearly states that it is a non-smoking property. I reported the issue immediately because I wanted to make it clear that the smoke smell was already in the room when we arrived and was not caused by us. Since it was very late and we were told this was the last available room, we understood that changing rooms might not be possible that night. However, the smell was extremely unpleasant and seriously affected our stay. A non-smoking hotel should not assign guests a room that already smells strongly of smoke, especially without clearly informing them before check-in. The smoke smell was so strong that our clothes and luggage now all smell like cigarette smoke as well. This made the situation even more frustrating, because the issue did not just affect the room itself, but also our personal belongings. The cleanliness of the room was also very disappointing. The chair and towels did not feel clean, which made the overall experience even worse. For a hotel room, basic cleanliness should be the minimum expectation. What made the situation more frustrating was the lack of proper communication from the hotel. I reported the problem, but the hotel did not respond to my complaint. They only replied to confirm checkout-related information and continued sending automated messages asking me to leave a review, while ignoring my actual concern about the room condition. Even the review process felt unreasonable. When I tried to select the option indicating that I had a poor stay, the copied link would not open. The only option that actually led me to the review website was the one indicating a positive stay. This is unacceptable and made the whole experience feel even more dishonest and frustrating. Overall, this was a very poor experience.
