Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Herndon Reston

Our stay here was unfortunately not a smooth one, beginning right from check-in. I had reserved rooms for five families, including my own, and specifically requested that our rooms be located close to each other for convenience, comfort, and easy access—especially since we all had children. This arrangement would have also minimized the likelihood of other guests being disturbed by the kids. Despite this request, the front desk staff was very unapologetic and placed us on different floors with rooms scattered across the hotel (418, 412, 424, 212, and 217). When I made the reservation, I selected the option for nearby rooms and even called Booking.com to confirm. Booking.com assured me that my request was communicated to the hotel. However, Mr. Ahmed, the staff member on duty, simply stated there was nothing he could do to accommodate us. To make matters worse, during our bonding time the night before checkout, a guest reported noise coming from my room. While I was uncomfortable receiving this complaint, it could have been avoided entirely had our families been placed in close proximity as requested. Additionally, during our stay in Room 418, my little boy accidentally bumped into the lower side of the wall, leaving a small dent. I immediately notified management, and I was told their engineers would inspect the damage and get back to me regarding whether or not I would be charged. However, upon checking my account this evening, I discovered that $202.62 had already been charged without anyone contacting me beforehand. Overall, our experience was disappointing. The lack of communication, poor handling of requests, and unexpected charges left us very dissatisfied. I truly hope management will address these concerns so future guests do not encounter similar issues.

Staff courtesy is zero. They don't clean the rooms daily. When I called to request room service to clean my room. The front desk said roo.s are cleaned every 3 days. Despite we all have kids. Even the trash can in all the rooms

I stayed several weeks ago and it was totally fine. This time, the same type of room was tiny by comparison, the bathroom was so small you could hardly shut the door because of the toilet. There was ZERO hot water for showering or for shaving and the air conditioner did not cool the room but made it humid. I wouldn’t recommend!

I’ve stayed here several times and everything is great. However, the last three visits, each time a different room, I’ve had no hot water.

The property is in a great location for exploring different types of food and small shops. It is easy to get around by walking, or using public transportation.
