Hilton Newark Airport

February 2026- outside temperature 34 degrees. Inside my room at 2:30am 79 degrees. Room is set to heat even if you switch to air. I woke up wondering why it was so hot. Tried to call the front desk but the phone just rang for 8min . Called from an outside line, and someone answered on 2nd ring. She said someone would be up from maintenance shortly. Maintenance came - very nice man - and said it's a valve problem (im summerizing). A hotel employee told me that the hotel is well aware of this problem, and that they "get these calls all night long", but don't change the underlying issue. Now, its 3a, I have a long day starting at 7am and I’m unlikely to fall asleep again. The only reason I'm giving the 2nd star is because the maintance man was so kind and brought me a fan. Very nice hotel with a front desk staff that cant be bothered to answer the phone when they know its a guest, and obviously management who can't be bothered to fix an ongoing problem. Not a restful night.

Dirty bad maintained

We stayed overnight so as to make an early flight the next morning. Unlike many hotels, the Hilton shuttle takes you direct to the terminal (many hotels only go to the Air Train). That is much more convenient when you are trying to make a flight. However the Hilton's pick up for return is at the Air Train. If you are parking at EZWay parking, which looks to be right next door, please be advised that fences block direct access so you have to walk along the street. There may be a sidewalk, but if so it was covered in snow when we were there. The restaurant is good, and the staff there attentive. Otherwise, the hotel is what you would expect from an airport Hilton, quiet, with good sized rooms and all the amenities.

The location was convenient and the staff were extremely helpful.

It has an outdated feel, the bathrooms were missing paint and tiles. It feels like it needs an update.
