"A 10 Star Experience!"

We went to The Great Room this past weekend and it's a perfect name for the wonderful bar at the Hotel Pere Marquette in Peoria, IL! We had such a great time meeting the staff that we went back a second night, before and after a concert at the Civic Center. The bar is very nice, spacious, comfortable and the drinks are great. We met the servers Bryant, Kelsie, Jody, Chris, among others and what a wonderful group of courteous and hard-working people! They remembered us and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We can't say enough positive things about this venue and highly recommend it! Jodi and Jack

"Not what we were expecting"

We've stayed at this hotel many times and really like it for it's comfort, cleanliness and wonderful staff. It's near a few good places to eat and a nice walk to the River front for more dining and drinking options. We always get a King room and it's usually spacious and has a nice, large bathroom. This time however, the bathroom was tiny, and had one of those small corner showers that you can barely move around in. Also, with regard to the bathroom there are those sliding barn-type doors that offer no privacy. I was also charged for parking, even though we did not park in the hotel garage (I should have checked the bill before we left but I didn't). It was prom weekend and all our usual places were completely booked so we had dinner in the hotel restaurant. Even though it was a Saturday night, there was only 1 server working. Other staff were helping out, running food & drinks, but you could tell they were not up to par for restaurant service. Over all this stay was disappointing, but I know they usually do better. If this had been my first time staying here, I wouldn't be back.

"This was, without a doubt, the absolute worst hotel experience of my life! I will NEVER return here!"

The staff member at the front desk of the SECOND hotel we were sent to was friendly. He did his best to accommodate us after the awful experience we had at the original location.

I reserved two King rooms for April 24, 2026, an overnight stay, so my husband and I, along with my dad and his girlfriend could attend a concert at the Peoria Civic Center, and we were traveling from an hour away. I made this reservation on February 16, 2026 and paid a non-refundable amount of $598, which was promptly charged on 02/18/26 to the credit card I provided. This was more that 2 months prior to the event. Upon our arrival, we were told by a very unapologetic staff member at the front desk that I needed to provide a confirmation number because he had no reservation waiting for us. I showed him the various emails with confirmation numbers I had received, which were unsatisfactory. Upon review, I had received an email the day before our arrival that I believed to be one final confirmation. The clerk pointed out to me that the message I had overlooked the previous day was to inform me that, due to unforeseen circumstances, we were being relocated to a Best Western hotel at a different property with an assurance of equal accommodations. To say that was a complete falsehood is an understatement. First, we chose this specific location due to the close proximity of the concert through a skywalk along with local dining. My dad is 73 years old, and his girlfriend currently has a broken arm, so this was more than a mere inconvenience. We were turned away and forced to carry our luggage all the way back to the parking deck and proceed to the alternate location, a very mediocre Best Western, where we were placed in 2 Queen rooms that are rated at $149 per room per night. We were completely denied a refund or discount of any kind. There was no restaurant, bar or lounge, and we had to drive to the concert. There is no question that this treatment is beyond unacceptable. We were treated terribly, and I am thoroughly disgusted with the whole experience.

"Terrible service from Pere. Best western service was good"

Don’t stay here because the hotel overbooked . I booked months and advance to show up and be told I didn’t have a room. They said they had a hotel set up with same amenities. It was a best western. Not worth the $300 I paid for Pere Marquette. I bought Pere Marquette for the reason it was next door to the venue and could walk to it. And will I be reimbursed the difference of roughly $125?

They overbooked rooms and I didn’t get the room I reserved

"Excellent"

The room was basic but comfortable, and the man at the omelet bar was quite talented. Location was great for the exhibit we attended at the Peoria Riverfront Museum. Parking was fairly-priced and convenient as well.

The public areas seemed a little bit dull. For such a storied hotel, the breakfast bar was a bit skimpy.

"Exceptional"

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room and facilities were comfortable and stylish. Breakfast was a bit overpriced, but had excellent options.

We had lunch with PM as part of a conference. The french fries were overdone and had NO taste. I thought the lunch (a slider buffet) could have been better. Items bought in the "convenience area" were WAY overpriced.
