ibis Strasbourg Centre Historique

Stayed for business so suited my needs. Staff was friendly and helpful.

We were particularly impressed with the excellent service we received in the hotel.The staff was already to provide assistance. The location allowed us to walk easily to the touristic places as well as to the Main train station. Also, it deserves high marks for cleanliness.

fuss free check-in, room was compact and small but clean. Toilet space is quite cramped.

I chose this hotel because it's A convenient walk from the train station and also a short walk into the old section of Strasbourg. It is a very comfortable hotel in a very safe area. There is a very good breakfast every morning and, Monday through Friday, there's a wonderful evening buffet at a very reasonable price. There is also a laundromat located about a three minute walk from the hotel-- which was very important to me. very helpful and friendly staff also.

The location is good, about 3/4 a mile to then Christmas markets and 1/2 mile to the train station. The service was also good. The sheets were not very clean and the building is old.

the name is deceptive. it's a bit far from the "Historic Centre".

comfortable - easy access to Train, tram and old city

Basic hotel, unpleasantly bare (concrete walls painted garish colours, bare floor with no carpeting), bathroom so tiny that if I weighed 10 kgs more I wouldn't have been able to get to the toilet! Also horrific ''room for her'' painting on door -- is this an advertisement so predators know where to find victims?!?! Breakfast was pleasant, though, a self-service buffet with reasonable choices and quantities, and good fresh bread. Juice from a machine, not fresh, but overall like eating in a clean school canteen. Included in price so can't complain. Their version of room service is interesting too -- you have to come down to the lobby to collect it yourself, but I had an excellent steak and a huge portion of veg, with a decent béarnaise sauce, for a good price, in the ''comfort'' (!) of my own room. Miserable collection of TV channels -- almost all FR and DE, very little else (BBC World news, but nowt else in EN), but that seems standard in Strasbourg. Overall acceptable, but not pleasurable.

I've been travelling for seven weeks and this was easily the most comfortable bed I've slept in during that time!! My final night, I ordered a meal at the bar, and when it was ready, one of the staff cleared a path through the hoards who had just arrived and set me up in the elevator. Great hotel.
