Desert Moon

The Desert Moon was more like a hostel than a boutique hotel. The staff was very responsive via email during the planning stage of our trip so I had no idea that when we reach the hotel there would be no front desk service or telephone in the room. They offered us car service from the airport and driver was friendly and accommodating. When we pulled up in from of the building I had a bad feeling that we were walking into a nightmare. First thing, the building is in a neighborhood that appears to be in the middle of a war zone. Second, when we enter there was no front desk or receptionist to greet you. Then the elevator is only big enough to fit one person plus a few bags plus there is no door to the elevator so you see the bare wall. When we reach the room it was nothing like the pictures. I guess I underestimated the measurements they listed on the internet as I thought it was bigger. The noise from the cars along the highway was intolerable and the room stinks. We arrived at around 1:30am and immediately booked another hotel to leave in a few hours. The only positive highlight of this hotel is views of the pyramid when you wake up in the morning. On the day that we were leaving there was no one to speak but the guys in the breakfast area who called someone on the phone to tell them we were leaving. I sent an email and no one has responded about my refunded or even to ask why I left.

The staff is very, very friendly and helpful. The view on the top of the roof is magnificent. Not far from Necropolis!

Good location, new furnishings, balcony door has a screen (very useful against flys), good staff and management, safe and secure , good breakfast. Clean rooms. Highly recommend

Great service from both the staff and owners. You get a great view of the pyramids from day to night. It’s the perfect location to escape to the desert or explore things outside of the city.

The view is remarkable. The staff are helpful and inviting. Dr. Mohamed is very knowledgeable and personally ensures that each guest feels welcome.

This was an easy and good hotel to pop into and then be on my journey the next morning

I would like a refund. The Taxi driver couldn't find it. According to the address, it was in a bad part of town. I had to go clear to the other side of Cairo just to feel safe and had to waste $140 on a new hotel. Does DesertMoon even exist? Nobodys even heard of it. We asked several locals

🇨🇦Great hotel out of the busy city. The roof top patio is a great place where everyone is enjoying their time. A must to see Egypt the best way is with a guide. I highly recommend the custom tours from the hotel.👍👍 I had an amazing experience thank you very much.

There is a harmony in the air at Desert Moon with such a vibrant rooftop view of the Pyramids outstretching past the desert floor. The hospitality and aesthetic details of the hotel help keep the tourist refreshed and renewed after time wandering the chaotic and bustling streets of Cairo.
