Econo Lodge & Suites Grand Rapids Airport

I choose this as a late notice economically friendly place to spend the night. The light switch in three first bedroom did not work. Neither did the blow dryer. The front desk did not have extra conveniences for guests like tooth brushes and paste. The tub was dirty. The bathroom ceiling had black water spots. I've been to better and worse hotels. I got a room with two queen beds and i liked the layout! The room was designed to feel like 2 separate bedrooms, though there were no bedroom doors

Ok for a short stay

It was a great stay.

Flying out of GRR early morning, location was good. Comfortable bed and linens. Hot water in bathroom shower, good water pressure. Liked having a suite with separate bedroom. We weren't there long enough to enjoy it. Lobby was welcoming. Breakfast adequate.

Grounds need a landscaper. Beautiful flowers planted but not taken care of, need to dead head flowers, remove dead flower hanging basket, edge grass and pull weeds. Room 111's shower ceiling is bowing in. Air filters need to be changed, filthy. Room decor is lacking. Some pictures on walls and table chairs or chair in living room needed. Just a little more TLC in rooms. No one was at front desk when we checked out. Left keys in basket. I would have liked a receipt.

Staff very helpful getting in laye from the airport

Everything was good except for the noisy A/C unit. It was too loud when operating causing a problem for me to sleep.

This is an Econolodge. I didn’t expect luxury. It was conveniently located, quiet and fine for a solo person staying a few nights. It was, however, shabby and not very clean. The hallway and stair carpets weren’t vacuumed; I walked past the same debris and visible dirt on them every day. There were stains of liquids on the room walls that a few wipes with a Magic Eraser sponge would have removed. Sills and baseboard trim had noticeable dust, and the upholstery on the room furniture was stained to the point where I put towels on it before sitting. The staff seemed always to be watching TV or just sitting around, so that during busy breakfast times, the dining area ran out of coffee, and tables weren’t wiped. The apple juice dispenser dispensed only water, even on the second day after I’d alerted the desk. Another guest commented that there was no jam or jelly or peanut butter, so the only option for toast spread was butter or cream cheese. A number of the hanging and potted plants at the entrance were dead or dying. If the staff of owners put in a small amount of effort (vacuum the stairs and hallway carpets daily, wipe the walls, touch up scraped trim paint, water the plants, wipe down tables, supply jam and keep coffee refilled during breakfast), this econolodge would be charming. I hope they will take this to heart.

Great value

Landscape was not maintained and overgrown with weeds. The AC was extremely loud and made it difficult to sleep. The sink faucet was was very loose and moved all over when turning on and off. Couch was full of stains.

It was clean and spacious. The people at the desk were very nice. The shuttle was extremely handy.

I couldn’t find an ice machine. Minor issue, though.
