Quality Inn & Suites Orangeburg

This place has gone completely to sht. Staying here used to be a really pleasant experience when my family and I would come here from Pennsylvania yearly, for reunions and such. Many of us would all stay here. Mind you, this was back around 2000 to 2013. I haven't been here since 2013 tho, since my mother passed away. This trip now (Thanksgiving, 2025) is my first time back here since her passing. I do a good bit of traveling, as my job requires me to, so I'm pretty used to hotels and their rules and what I normally encounter and expect. While that's out of the way... pulling up off of a 10-hour drive, we arrived at 2pm. I came to the lobby to ask if I could check in, as some places will allow you to do so a little earlier. The clerk here informs me that check-in isn't until 3, but with a "you should know" attitude. I happen to look at my bank account app and I see a "hold" for $89. I ask why it's there. The clerk tells me its just a hold the hotel places on your account on the day you're supposed to check in... Not a real reason why, but... ok. We leave to have a bite to eat and sit down for an hour. Then we come back... I arrive back at the check-in counter. There's a new clerk at the desk, a "Trainee", as the previous one is leaving for the day. I check in smoothly, until the clerk tells me that they need a $100 security deposit. I asked her about the "hold" that was already on my account. Wouldn't that be it? She says "no, that's just a hold". I said "a hold for what tho? Why am I being charged another $100 on top of the $89 that yall already took, and neither one has anything to do with paying for my stay?" She starts to yell and says "the $100 is for security and the $89 is just a hold. They're both just holds. You must not have read your agreement." I said "I sure did and none of it mentioned 2 extra charges where 1 cant even be explained." I stepped out for air after a bit of back n forth. Since I have to stay here (they've charged me for the stay and wont refund it), I have to grit and bear this. Now the room... I walk in and see an old water stain on the top comforter of the bed. I pull back the comforter to make sure the bed isnt dirty as well. It wasnt. We can hear EVERY sound from outside, as theres a gap at the bottom of the door. A freight train passes every so often. The other tenants on both sides of me are loud, smoking weed, crazy-loud car engines and exhausts, loud music. Its a mess. I'm from the inner city so I'm accustomed to noise and exhaust/smoke odors, but NOT right at my door. I let it be tho. But I made sure I got in here to let you as potential customers know what type of place this is. Its not a quiet or pleasant stay at all. I'll do better finding a good place to stay next time.

The room was very clean and it had everything we needed, TV, microwave, refrigerator, and fluffy towels. The bed was comfortable and we had lots of comfy pillows. Perfect for what we needed for a one night stay.

This is a very basic hotel, but served its purpose. We were tired of driving and it was available. Room was clean, but linens dingy. Staff were very pleasant. Free breakfast was adequate, area clean. There is no elevator for 2nd floor which might be an issue for some. Location is easy on/off from highway with several restaurants nearby.

We stayed overnight on our way to FL. Good location off the interstate. Spacious parking lot to accommodate our truck and trailer. Staff very nice and we got a room on ground floor as requested for easy access. Room was clean and comfortable.

Everything was fine except breakfast-sausage gravy was refilled as we entered and was cold Mini muffins were very good Missed being able to make tea in the room and I don’t do coffee
