Tapatio Springs Hill Country Resort

My review is regarding dining. The food was wonderful. The view, spectacular. Lovely waitress. The experience, horrible. Beautiful dining room which adjoins the bar. Big mistake! The noise from the bar elevated this evening into a night of hell. We drove quite a distance, thinking we would have a lovely dining experience. The screaming and laughter from the bar made it impossible to even have a conversation. You are forewarned. Do not expect anything other than crass behavior that should be addressed by management and isn’t.

Our children enjoyed the pool. That’s it.

From the moment we checked in we had a bad vibe from the staff - we weren’t welcomed and it was a pretty much a going through the motions check in. The main issue is a lot of young and poorly trained staff who are disinterested in customers and their jobs in general. Rooms are very dated and need a renovation. The property in general, other than the club house needs an update - there’s rust on furniture, bird droppings on balconies, cracked tiles, dusty air vents etc etc. Lots of garbage around the pool and even floating in the pool and hot tub. On the first night we had reserved dinner for 8pm and when we arrived were told there was no table. We asked why this was the case and were told a large group arrived and “just started ordering” - imagine a large group of people eating at a golf course and hotel restaurant… hardly unexpected. The young lady at the restaurant reception even told us reservations are not honoured and that we should go somewhere else (it was late and we’d two kids to feed and it’s a 15 minute drive to town to find somewhere else). We stood our ground and eventually got a table. Orders taken and 1 hour and 20 minutes later our food arrived. Now I understand it can get busy but if you train you staff they can communicate what the issue is and how long it may take for food to arrive. None of this happened. I would credit the server for taking care of the outside area single handedly but she should never have been placed in that position. We avoided the restaurant after this. The pool area has a problem also. Staff shut the bar early on Friday as “everyone seems to have left” even though there were 10+ people around the pool. The pool boy/towel boy and life guard spend their days on their phones and flirting with each other. The most concerning is the young woman who’s supposed to be the lifeguard - never looking at the pool, always on her phone. At one point they both had their feet up while watching videos.

One of our favorite places. It would have been great if they enforced the ‘adults only’ rule at the adult pool, but they didn’t this last time we were there. Overall, we had a good time and the food has definitely improved at La Cascada.

Beautiful. Great pool. Especially loved the pool area with the firepits on wvery night gorgeous views ans ambiance. Restaurant was great for breakfast.

Room was pretty rough the pool was dirty not as pictures show.

The property is beautiful, food was great and pool area was great. Loved that there was an adults only pool! Steff was very nice and accommodating.

Our room was a little tired. The furniture was old and worn. Bathroom was out dated. The shower fixtures were old and dripped.

The room was horrible- as we walked in there was an old musky smell. The smell did not go away. They just mask it with air freshener, felt as if we were in an it felt as if we were in a old motel room, Our room was so outdated.- the toilet wobbled, everything in the restroom and room were outdated.

Is good but they need more active for kids like arcades. Indoor playground...

Such a beautiful property. I always stay there when I take trips home.
