Ottawa Embassy Hotel & Suites

I highly enjoyed the staff and housekeeping they were so kind and accommodating when I needed a top up of sugar, coffee and toiletries.

The carpet in the room/apartment suite was disgusting. It smelled and in turn made the room smell. The pull out sofa had a very uncomfortable mattress and squeaked terribly that the guest who stayed and slept on the sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable and the sofa was stained and also smelled horribly musky. The room was not even wide enough to accommodate my mother's walker and the bathroom had barely any room to maneuver around freely. Parking should not be paid for and should be provided by the hotel especially when not guaranteed to have a parking spot. The smell of the overall hotel and hotel rooms was not pleasant. The pictures online need to do a better job of representing the true rooms/suites you stay in. Also it would of been nice to be informed that the elevator was under mantience and the upper rooms under renovations. The windows were so dirty and condensation covered you couldn't see out of them along with very musky and dirty curtains. Lastly the room was so cold all 4 of us slept freezing with very thin blankets not even thick enough to be called a duvet. Very unhappy we were unable to adjust the temperature of the rooms and had to result in asking to supply us with a space heater that barely provided any respite from the cold room.

We chose this hotel only because its parking; yes, I can accept it is written on booking.com that the parking is not free, however we did not notice that before booking. We arrived and we were only told that no spot was available at moment, as it is "first come, first served" basis. After some time, we asked again and we were told that ok just one spot can be given to us, so we took it. Next day, turned out the parking was not free of charge, even for hotel residents, and we were charged about CAD 32. While there was another safe parking on 200m (City Hall) for just CAD2 per day, we were not told beforehand that the hotel's parking was not free. We were offered just a disservice
