The Grove

Stena cancelled our crossing on 12th May so we had to travel back 11th May evening route. I contacted The Grove and spoke to Michael there who said there were rooms available however he could not amend the booking and advised me to call Marstons reservations. I spoke to them and they said they could not change as I booked through booking.com. I spoke to booking.com who put the request to the hotel. I then received an email the following day stating the request was not agreed so we did not go at all to The Grove and could not get a refund. I sent a message direct to the hotel to explain we would not be arriving on 12th May, then I got a phone call at 9pm on the 12th May from David from The Grove asking where we were? A total breakdown in communication all around and we had to drive back from Fishguard to the Midlands at midnight o. 11th, causing alot of stress.

The warm welcome from a member of staff(Michael Williamson)that not only checked us in, took the time to take us to our room but also worked the bar and waited on! His customer service was first class.

Good location. Lots of car parking space. Rooms with lots of space. Comfy and clean.

From the time we entered the hotel, we knew we'd chosen the right place. Jeff greeted us and signed us in then called Carol who immediately made the biggest fuss of my dog. Dogs are as welcome in the hotel as people. Our rooms were spotless (serviced by Nicole we later learned) and nothing was too much trouble. Its location scores top marks and the breakfast was first rate. I'd love to return.

Our room was spacious and comfortable. The hotel is in a great location to enjoy the attractions in the area. We enjoyed the lunch and breakfast in the hotel restaurant. The staff were very accommodating in checking us in and arranging on our last day to give us some breakfast food earlier than the scheduled breakfast hours.
