The Grove

Hotel in perfect location, plenty of free parking. A very warm welcome feel from the minute we arrived from Carol and Jeff. Food was great off specials menu and value for money. Drinks after in a cosy lounge area in from of the fire. All tastefully decorated. Room was perfect on ground floor and very easy with our small dog as there was a side exit outside our room which was really useful. Breakfast was again lovely, Michael looked after us and again was very welcoming even with our dog.

great location. we was extremely impressed with our greeting. fully accommodating. rooms are currently being updated as new management however they were clean and comfortable and had all needed in the room for our stay. will be going back again.

there was nothing not to like

Lovely building. Excellent location. Beautiful conservatory. Potentially a first class pub / hotel.

Plastic flowers. (Especially the dreadful plastic ferns at the entrance.) Gaming machine on the right as you walk in. UPF breakfast. Too much signage at the front. Unnecessary banners and parkling deterrents. A simple pub sign would have been sufficient. Creeping technology. (screens for all kinds of this and that) Over-large TV screen in the room (which we didn't watch anyway.) All costing money which could be better spent on items and touches of better quality. The Grove looks good but turned out to be not the kind of place we would have chosen. Certainly not the kind of place we would choose in the future!
