Le Dimore del Duomo

Excellent apartment, very centrally located. Close to the Duomo, the fish market, via Etnea pedestrian thoroughfare, the Roman amphitheater, Teatro Bellini and so much more! We ate in on two evenings and found it very convenient to shop at the market and use the apartment’s kitchen facilities. Bakery, butchers, produce vendors, cheese and salami shops are all in the immediate vicinity. We even found a shop which sold freshly made pasta. The bedroom ACs are fantastic…if you visit in the summer, you will be very comfortable. The washing machine was also very useful since we arrived in Catania at the tail end of our Sicily visit. The host Ivana was wonderful…we locked our last bag in upon departure and she arranged for someone to rush over with a key so that we could depart in a timely fashion. She went above and beyond…very helpful and kind. We’d love to return to Catania. It is a wonderful city with so much to discover and we feel that three days was barely enough to scratch the surface. Will be back to Le Dimore del Duomo when we return. Grazie mille, Ivana!

1.The location is walking distance to historical places & central train station. 2.It has all the amenities one needs at home. 3.The host tries to be helpful. 4.Wifi functions properly. 5.Free coffee.

1.The location is also a downside because it is NOISY, no not NOISY but EXTREMELY NOISY until 3.30 am! If you are a light sleeper or have a baby who has sleeping problems, definitely don't choose this place. The noise stops at 3.30 am and then garbage men arrive around 5.00 dumping glass! The windows are not soundproof at all... 2.You have to use 4 different keys to get into the apartment. There is one more key for the electricity. 5 keys that you should not LOSE! 3.We stayed for 5 nights and the host didn't offer to change the sheets/towels or sweep/mop the floors. 4.The waterproof sheet on the bed keeps slipping.

The apartment was nice and very comfortable. Its location is perfect - you can see the Duomo from your terrace. It’s in the actual centre of Catania and there is a lot of nightlife going on around the place (it gets noisy from 11pm to 2am, so it could be a problem for family vacations). Ester (the woman who we met at the location) was really helpful and gave us tips for taxi to the airport.

It gets noisy at night, so it could be a problem for some people.

Clean place with excellent location from you could visit main attractions of the city

Great communication with Ivana both before and during our stay. Esther also gave us lots of infirmation on our arrival which we really appreciated- nothing was too much trouble. The flat was spacious, clean and comfortable and within walking distance of the sites of Catania, the train station and the pickup point for the tour we booked. We also loved the restaurants in the fishmarket which were on our doorstep.

The noise from the bars across the road made it difficult to sleep. This was understandable initially as there was a festival on for the first two nights of our stay. However, the noise continued into the early hours, each might even when the festival had finished. Such a shame as everything else was 10/10 and its not something the owner has control over.

The apartment is spacious , clean and comfortable with well equipped kitchen and It's located in the heart of city near Duomo. The host Ivana is very kind, polite and helpful and very responsive to answer all the queries. Prior to arrival, we were guided how to reach apartment from catania Airport and she was constantly in touch till we reached there. And also she guided us for all tours and tourist attractions nearby catania. It was pleasant stay and would definitely come back again to stay here.
