Nice area

Small room with all the things you expect from a smaller motel. Clean and well organized. Front line staff were very friendly. Overall no serious negative things to report. Although there were work trucks outside nearby rooms, I didn't hear they leave in the morning so the rooms are quiet.

A minor thing, common in motels, is that the main light and fan in the bathroom are one switch. You can't have one without the other. That's a problem if you have a cool room and you don't want the fan to draw cool air into the bathroom. And while it didn't apply to me, it would be awkward for someone who wanted to use the washroom at night if someone else was sleeping as the fan was loud. There was an interesting lit mirror on the wall but it was controlled by the same switch. It would have been far better if that could be controlled independently.

The location was good and convient for arena access. The person as reception was nice. The cleaners were also nice and asked if I needed anything.

I messaged when I booked (well in advance) asking if my 2 dogs would be fine to stay with me. I received an email reply back that it was fine and there would be no pet charge. When I was checking in they tried to switch me from the suite I booked to a double room. I had the 2 dogs plus 2 sets of hockey gear as I was there for a hockey tournament. Then the next morning I went for the breakfast and to get more coffeemate and was told there was a $20 plus tax charge for each night for my dogs. Had I been told these things up front when I asked at booking I would have booked somewhere else as there were nicer places for similar price but I booked this one because I was told there wouldn't be a pet charge which made this one slightly cheaper. Springing those things upon arrival was super shady.

Very comfortable beds-great matress. Clean, fresh linen. Quiet for sleeping. Adjustable heat/cool to our comfort. Very friendly check in and out. We were going to a Wedding at 2:30, and were able to check in at 1 to get freshened up and changed clothes after our 4 hour drive to Digby. Near all stores and 2 minutes to downtown water front. Didn't have breakfast there, but was available. (Tim's next door, so the men were there first thing in am and got coffee for all, lol) We were 2 couples, Lots of chairs for all... Everyone was happy with our stay.

Ad said there was a pull out coach, but wasn't in our room. I think it could have been in other suite, and I could have asked at the desk for it...would have if 5th person had come with us. The building is old, and dated, so bathroom is a bit stained in sink and toilet, but was definitely cleaned. If I had booked directly with the Motel, I would have gotten room $25 less, because off season rates would have applied.
