Royal Sakalava

Food was good although they didn't many of the seafood options mentioned in the menu. The staff at the restaurant was very friendly and kind. the location is great.

The property, especially the rooms were not well maintained. The toilet was unstable, needs to be very careful when sitting. The shower didn't have curtain. The shower head was lose. The towel hooks were lose and broken. The mosquito nets had holes. The fans were not enough.... rooms were extremely hot during the day (lack of ventilation) and during the night remained hot.

Location and beach were amazing. It was very quiet and peaceful. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The kayaks were a bonus to see the mangroves.

Fan in the room was not very effective. The blades are too flat to move the air efficiently.

Juste 24h ont suffit pour apprécier l’hotel le restaurant et la famille dirigeante. L’ambiance surf de la plage est jeune et saine. Les plages des 3 baies aunord sont exeptionnelles.

Spacious room with hot water right on the beach. Excellent food for such a remote place.

You had to figure out what you wanted to do. The hosts were helpful if you asked a direct question but they weren’t very engaging. This is fine if you just want to relax.

right at sakalava bay, great staff, restaurant served really great food and rapidly. Also enjoyed tennis facilities.

No air conditioning or wifi in the rooms. Would be great if we had place or hooks to hang up our beach towels and wet bathing suites.

Beautiful set timing in Sakalava bay. Stunningly remote but plenty of excursions to be had which include visits to Diego or the port where you can travel to the Emerald sea by boat. It’s a real family environment which we loved and the staff and hosts are very caring and helpful. The rooms are great with mozi nets and spacious bathroom and veranda. The food is excellent. Fresh fruit was delicious and the fish fresh and tasty. We come from a home with dogs and we really like the Labradors which hung out with you and enjoyed a walk and a swim if you wanted company. They also keep tortoises which were amusing. I recommend a stay here for sure.

I had a wonderfully relaxing three nights at Royal Sakalava. The bungalows were spacious, clean, and comfortable, the staff delightful, and the location beautiful. They also serve a very good breakfast with a (very much appreciated) ample serving of coffee.

Some of the plumbing fixtures are tired and could use an update. But, they work!

Kite surfing, rooms, clean, common area is beautiful. Great location right on the beach. Staff is always smiling and friendly. Good food.

Food options are limited and after a few days we got tired of them. Wifi is weak and doesn't reach the room.
