Auberge du Colombier

Despite waiting unattended in reception for 20 mins and then having to hunt down a member of staff to check us in, we loved our stay here. The room was large and the bed very comfortable. The bathroom had a 1980s look but was clean and spacious. Thoroughly recommend the busy restaurant - delicious food and good service. Breakfast was delicious too with lots to choose from and all fresh. Our first night touring in France had set the bar high.

Travelling through France and usually opting for hotels, we chose instead to stay in an Auberge. Fabulous and will definitely stay again. Clean, safe and the mostvcomfiest of beds. Loved the breakfast. Thank you so much

Lovely night away. Family with 2 children 8 and 10. Food delicious. Family room comprised of two rooms. Loved it.

We were given the ground floor disabled friendly room (last room) and it's large and has 2 single beds. Comfortable mattresses, wet room no bath. Pretty basic but clean. No toiletries but towels are provided. There is no real check-in desk you have to call a number and the fella comes and hands you keys, and then didn't even stay to tell us anything about the facilities! That was a little irritating as we wanted to use the adjacent pool. Figured it out by making another call. No lifeguards and a bit of a free for all at the pool. Functional and friendly. Basic again. But relaxing. Only issue, smokers outside front of entrance mean when you have windows open (no a/c or fan) you get smell and smoke in room. Also eating in Calais or Guiles is better and cheaper than on site..

Vary French with heavy furniture. Handy for ferry port. Don't put a light on in your room if you have a window open as a bat flew in the room, awful.

Nice hotel but we were caught out by the restaurant being closed on one of the evenings.

Quite handy for a one night stay - only 17 mins from Eurotunnel. Room soundproofing could be better though. Restaurant on site was good value for money. Only downside was that we arrived at 17.00 hoping for a swim and were told the pool was open till 18.00 but when we went across it was all locked up and no-one was around to ask.
