Rhodes Port Haven Suite

Perfect location. Close to the port, the central market and above a large super market where you can find everything you need. The apartment was very clean and well equipped. The staff was kind and always ready to assist.

Location of the apartment was good, a decent supemarket was in the same building. Clear and extensive check-in instructions, apartment was clean.

A lot of traffic noise with no noise cancellation from the windows. For sure a bit outdated apartment, could use a fresh coat of paint and modernization. No cleaning supplies, only 1 roll of toilet paper, no extra trash bags - if a family of 5 is staying for more than a few nights, these things could come in handy. Also, quite a lot of ants, so don't leave any food out. Communication with the host was a bit confusing and rude, for example the TV signal was not working as the cable was damaged, the host replied after 24 hours. Also no clear information on parking, we wished to park under the building, for which they had to send someone and give us the remote for the garage door (which was open almost all the time). Could be organized a lot smoother. Not great, but good value for money.

Clean and easy to find

All instructions arrived in good time with well laid out PDF guide for us to let ourselves in and find the flat with clear instructions and photographs.. The apartment was very clean, large, cool, airy and very well appointed. Locks are deadbolt and very secure. There is a safe, and large balcony great for an evening nightcap and smoke (if you do). Beds are large and comfortable with the option for a change of linen if required. Kitchen had everything you could need and a great fridge freezer and washing machine. Clothes dry on a second balcony by the time you have finished hanging them, so you really can pack light. TV was barely on, but had a good satellite feed, and WIFI was excellent. We needed to contact the owners on occasion for a bit of help with queries, unexpected airport transfers and a late checkout (our carrier let us down) and we couldn't have asked for more. These were not problems of their making, but we received prompt helpful responses and felt very well looked after. The great thing about this apartment is that it is so centrally / well placed. A 10 minute walk to the docks where we hired a boat for the day. A 10 minute walk to the Old Town, and plenty of great local eateries within a five minute radius. The groceries, are two minutes away and despite its great location the area is not dense with tourists. Busy with Rhodians during the day and quiet at night. A perfect location for those not enamoured of the package style hols and wanting to experience a more genuine insight to the island. Hiring a car was genuinely easy and inexpensive without the usual exhortations to buy extra insurance etc. Scooters are probably the way forward, but we took a buggy and went round the island (Much fun). Parking is easy, and although there is underground parking specifically available for apartment guests we chose to just park on the street outside. We could not fault the property or service, and would take it again if we returned to Rhodes.

Neither my partner nor I could fault the apartment, nor the customer service. We requested a late checkout as our flight was late, and were given a gratis late check-out which really made the last day a worthwhile one, and the night before a very relaxed affair. If I were being really, really picky and trying hard to find a fault I could say that there was not a sea view from the balcony, but that is not strictly true, and not what we hired the apartment for in the first place.
