Hotel Reykjavík Grand

Thanks to Expedia we were upgraded to a Junior Suite on the 12th floor which was spacious, elegant, and luxurious. Front desk exceptionally helpful. Outstanding view of the water and mountains from a room that feels like an upscale urban apartment replete with attractive furniture (glass coffee table, mid century couch and chairs, desk, etc.) Extensive toiletries (nail kit, sewing kit, tooth brushing kit, shaving kit, etc.), plush robes, jet tub and spacious shower stall. Bed is the most comfortable I remember ever having in a hotel. We arrived famished after a flight from UK, and the smoked salmon sandwich (split one) with egg and plump fresh salmon, and just enough wasabi, was excellent quality fish and delicious. Pleasant lobby.

Personal an Bar hat lieber miteinander gesprochen als Gäste zu bedienen; sind daher außerhalb etwas trinken gegangen unser Bett (Zimmer im 8.Stock) war eine Voll-Katastrophe, 3 Tage wenig schlafen können da Betten mit extrem weicher oder durchgelegener Matratze, eine Rezeptionisten meinte es gäbe keine anderen Betten (Matratzen), erst auf nochmaliges Drängen schaltet sich ein Kollege ein und beschaffte uns im angeschlossenen Altbau ein Zimmer mit optimaler Matratze, Nachteil hier im 3.OG - das warme Wasser kam direkt aus einer Quelle - schwefelhaltiges Wasser

İlk gün bizi karşılayan resepsiyon görevlisinin ilgisiz ve yanlış yönlendirmeleri nedeniyle odamızı kendi çabalarımızla bulabildik. Ayrıca resepsiyona odadan telefonla ulaşabilmek için 5 dakikaya yakın telefonda bekledik. Ulaştıktan sonra da yardımcı olmak için çabalamayı geçtim, alaycı ve umursamaz bir konuşma tarzıyla sorularımızı yanıtlamasıyla ilk andan otelden soğuduk. Oda çok karanlıktı. Yataklar inanılmaz rahatsızdı, tüm izlanda gezimiz boyunca çok rahat etmişken, burada ilk geceden sırtım tutuldu. Düzgün bir kettle bile sağlayamadılar.

The curtain not enough wide to can cover the whole window. In Iceland…the bed was too soft.

Gardínurnar ekki alveg nógu góðar. Náðu ekki að dragast alveg fyrir svo yrði algjör myrkvun í herberginu. Líkamsræktin mjög léleg.

Concierge was very friendly and helpful. There was a loaded snack shop in the lobby! Cookies and coffee were always available in the lobby. Bed was soft and comfortable. The lobby dome let in a lot of light. Heated towel racks. Breakfast was fantastic!
