The Pines Resort

Great value and would book again. It could do with a bit of modernisation but had everything we needed and felt clean. They acted professionally and with urgency when we called out we had booked a room with a lake view but only had a partial view with our originally allocated room. Sure enough they gave us a room with a great view very quickly. Their pool area overlooking the beautiful lake was the perfect relaxation spot when not exploring nearby Yosemite. FYI - Be careful/read the small print if looking to book water sports on hotel premises (although it might be a separate company?!)… Looking to book a jet ski, they charge a fair hire fee but then mandate an insurance charge via one of 2 options: a) A $1k deposit ‘which can take several weeks to return to customers’ or, b) A $50 deposit which would count for nothing in the event of any accidental damage which would see a charge of up to $500! Confused? So were we (plus put off by a relatively low rating) hence booked elsewhere without any regrets.

Chose The Pines Resort at Bass Lake as weekend accommodations for our Saturday trip to Yosemite. Chalet was comfortable, walking distance to shops and restaurants. View of lake breathtaking. Highly recommend!

Amazing stay, loved the pool, Ducey Bar and better than the pines bar which was more for local people! Super market on site was well stocked. Made our stay by seeing our first black bear in the wild!! Hired a kayak which was good but be prepared for the waves from the speed boats. Great base to visit Yosemite from. The lodges are exactly as sold, comfortable but the fan in the toilet is like an aircraft taking off!!!

We had a chalet with one bedroom. It has full kitchen and bath, We had four adults with one child. The bedroom has two queen beds and a queen converted sofa in the living room. We brought food for most of our meals. The place has a balcony where we had our meals. We ordered an indoor tent for the 5 year old and she had great fun. It’s an hour drive to Yosemite. There is a large swimming pool but not heated at all. It would be great if it is a little heated. It is a great place for a family vacation. We ate at the restaurant for lunch once but it’s more like a fast food place. The service is great though. The gift shops carry many different items especially one of the shops which carry very special gift items which I ended buying many for Christmas.

Loved the resort! Walkable, friendly and fun! Relaxed by pool and lake! Boat rentals was easy! Loved the store too and breakfast!!

Lack of good food options

This was made for families. It’s so convenient, we got room 15 spa suite lake view and it doesn’t disappoint. You have amazing views, connected to the restaurant and access to the pool/lake shore. We went fishing near by, kayaking and ate at the other local restaurant with live music daily. We stayed here so we can visit Yosemite and was able to get a shuttle tour that picked us up at the resort. It was perfect.

Though this property is old, we enjoyed staying. However, they did not refresh the coffee in our room. I walked up the hill to the office to ask for more coffee and they said they had to deliver it. However, they did not bring what we asked for. They brought coffee bags that don't go into the kind of coffee maker in the room. They did not knock, just left it outside the door. This may seem like a small things, but for us it made our morning less than pleasant.

I had stay at these facilities with my family in the past and used to be way better.. prices have gone up (understandable) but quality has come way down... hotel looked like it hasn't been vacuum for a few month, dust and spider webs everywhere in the kitchen.. I get is a cabin like stay but at least keep it clean. Place was quiet and staff were politeat out arrival, didn't have the chance to walked around property got in late and left early.. after seeing the inside didn't really had a good expectation on the exterior.
