Rockbridge Inn

First, a very kind and considerate staff. They gave us a refund for the day we no longer had to use due to a change in our travel plans when many lodging facilities would have refused to do this for you. We found the room rate reasonable for this location. We used this facility to attend our grandson’s VMI graduation and it was less than a 10 minute drive to reach downtown Lexington or VMI depending upon traffic. We found the area surrounding this location quiet since you are outside of the town and up on a small hill. They are a pet friendly hotel and they have a large amount of acreage to exercise your pet. They only charged us a very small fee for our dog. No complaints about the wireless service provided at the hotel. They have no cable TV but instead use Roku. They have major ongoing renovations to the facility since this facility was built in the 1950’s. Our room was clean and the beds and pillows reasonably comfortable. One minor issue was that they need to provide a clothing rod in their rooms to hang clothing. They have an ironing board and iron in each room along with a hairdryer that has a light sensitive night light built into the hairdryer. There is a conveniently located gas station/small store at the bottom of this facility’s driveway. I believe that the quality of this facility will continue to improve as the management continues with their ongoing improvement efforts.

A hidden out of the way hotel that is worth the drive, very clean well kept spacious room, clean bathroom, comfy beds and pillows. Convenient to historic and might I say beautiful quaint downtown Lexington. I would highly recommend this place although it looks like some renovations might be in progress. Don't let it deter you from this place though, you won't regret you did. For all you coffee drinkers out there the fresh ground fresh brewed coffee offered in the office is very good.

Booking was easy, check-in was breeze, felt safe, very quiet, room was clean and amazingly roomy plus super cool as it has a 1960s beachy vibe. First time staying here and already booked another weekend; not the same room (#18 rocks!) but hoping for the exact same quirkiness and quietness. Thanks to Kelly and David.

We've stayed here twice under radically different circumstances and both times they were awesome. The rooms are good sized with a sitting area out front with a great view looking off into the Blue Ridge Mountains. More importantly, both times the owner and staff have treated us like family giving us advice on places to eat, good hiking spots, local handyman tips you name it. Anytime family or friends need a place to stay in Lexington we send them there.

This is a completely refurbished older motel (I think they perhaps called these Motor Lodges). It is situated on a ridge just west of town, with a great view to the northeast of the mountains. The owner-proprietor is pleasant and helpful, and he knows the town well. My queen-bed room was very large, with a separate sitting area with frig. The bathroom was also recently renovated. Overall it is a great place to stay when visiting. It is very quiet and the room was spotless. It is also an excellent value. No breakfast is served, but there is a nice diner downtown.

Great motel! Very clean and rooms had recently been renovated. Staff was great and very accommodating! This was a last minute change to plans and they were great. It is near the town center and close to Virginia Horse Park. Near Washington & Lee and VMI also. Pet friendly Quiet and scenic.

I discovered this inn due to a power outage in my town. The reviews were spot on and the rate was reasonable. I stayed in a queen suite which suited me just fine. Very clean; everything I needed. Mini fridge, microwave, high speed internet, normal bath amenities. The owner was very friendly and helpful. I recommend it.

Wonderful throw back hotel under renovation, nothing fancy but great staff, large clean rooms, please support this family run hotel when in the area you can not beat for the price, will definitely stay again

We had a slightly confused stay at this Inn. We reserved a room that slept 4 but the first night only had a room with one queen bed. Fortunately the other people arrived a day late so it all worked out, as management moved us to a bigger room after the first night. Clean rooms, comfortable beds and plenty of hot water for showers. This place will be very nice when they complete the renovations.
