InterContinental Koh Samui Resort, an IHG Hotel

Incredible location, best sunset views I’ve ever seen. Property it self was also amazing, excellent rooms, facilities and food! Staff couldn’t have been nicer/went beyond any expectations when they found out it was a birthday stay also.

Nothing to dislike, would highly recommend. It is very much an isolated resort location though just FYI you would need to get taxis etc if you were to explore the island further. Not an issue but may be worth people knowing. We split our time between this stay and other hotels to get more of an experience across the island.

This is one of my favorite places in the world. I have now stayed here three times. It is tropical, secluded and has attractive rooms with a balcony and view right out to the sea. There are world class sunsets here. The best I have ever seen. It is normal to see a fluorescent red ball disappear into the horizon. It is an easy walk to the beach and you will have the beach to yourself.

The staff is the best part of this hotel and what I believe is the reason for the hotels high score. All staff members were really accommodating and welcoming. They were attentive and made so much effort in making our stay as comfortable as possible. The views are also stunning from reception. The breakfast is pretty good and the staff at breakfast were great.

Unfortunately however the property itself is extremely tired. Not what you would expect for a 5 star. The reception area itself has beautiful views but look too close and you can see it’s pretty tired. We had a private pool room which was incredibly spacious however also needing maintenance work. It looked tired. We had ants crawling across our bathroom counter which was a little off putting. The pool area did not have any sunbeds and we were expected to go to the main pool to use them which is counter intuitive of getting a private pool room. Especially as we had a young baby and chose this room so that we could enjoy the pool whilst having the comforts of the room for a young baby. The hotel staff however were kind enough to bring beds for us to use given the circumstance. Again the highlight of the hotel was the staff. The air conditioning didn’t work and we had to call maintenance 5 times. It was only when we demanded for something to be done before we were moved. Which was a shame as I believe they would have just kept sending maintenance if we didn’t push for something else to be done. The room they provided was a room which had maintenance work being done during the day but this did not bother us too much.

Absolutely incredible stay, couldn’t fault a thing. The cliff side villas are huge and have fantastic amenities and views. Very comfortable bed and ample amount of space. The 6 pools are all fantastic with the blue pool and beach pool being our favorite. The staff are fantastic from the security to, cleaners, buggy drivers and concierge. Miu was particularly helpful from the moment we checked in until the moment we left with such a happy smile and always there with the answer's. We don’t want to leave but we will be back one day! It is to close for renovations in 2027 so it will be interesting to see what it will come back as, as I’m not sure how much better it can be!

Super Hotel!

Everything about my stay was top notch. The service was exceptional, beginning well before my arrival through the concierge and trip planning, and continuing through the stay. While Dow in particular was extremely helpful, the entire staff was some of the best I’ve experienced. The rooms are beautiful and the food also is quite good. Though the property is expansive, it is easy to access the buggies to get around. Perfect for a quiet holiday.
