Sapphire Bayil Hotel

Very noisy whichever room you get. Firstly on the inside so noise travels up from reception area. Moved rooms as too hot, 30°c and ac was off for winter. 2nd room on the street, incredibly noisy. Cleaners operating throughout the night. Banging constantly, chairs scraping across wooden floors. Doors slamming throughout the day and night. Staff are friendly and helpful.

First good impressions of a country are also had by the quality of the Hotel which accommodates the visitor. Maria and I visited Baku in October and Sapphire Bayil Hotel provided us with that good impression. Although not close to CBD, there are a number of supermarkets nearby. Baku was hit bay gale strong winds on the day we arrived and yet we were able to access a Supermarket nearby. We were warned that the room was going to be very good and that is exactly what it was. We were very pleased with it and the parquet floor added to its quality. The Ensuite was excellent and so was the breakfast which was vast. We stayed three nights at this Hotel which we recommend to those who read this comment.

We really liked this place (although some minor things needed improvement). In summary, we would definitely go back. Good things: Lovely lobby area, recently upgraded hotel and enormous bedroom and bathroom - we had a balcony and looked over a quiet side street, although friends had a noisy room at the back. The place had the character of a boutique hotel. $2 taxi ride to most tourist areas, 2 supermarkets, bakeries, cafes and park nearby in pleasant suburb. Helpful staff, particularly at the entrance - get them to call any taxis you need using their app, as it is much cheaper that way. Lots of power points, good toiletries, decent safe, free water each day, tea and coffee, fridge, very good shower, good shaving/cosmetic mirror, firm bed giving a great sleep,, good internet. Other; The housekeeping was variable, e.g. the toilet was not cleaned or bins emptied one day, and I needed to chase up toilet paper another day. The bathroom at times had a drain smell. The breakfast buffet was good but I had language and other issues getting some gluten free food - the staff tried though and the manager sorted things out more than once.

I regretted booking this hotel for multiple reasons. The bed was not very comfortable, the location was farther away from the main activities than I thought it would, we had to take taxis all the time because it's not easy to walk from the hotel to the city center. The breakfast was the worst part. I will say that the staff was helpful with organizing our PCR testing prior to our departure flight however I wouldn't stay there again and I don't recommend it.

The hotel was nice, big and comfy and clean. But the staff are not flexible enough for the request of their guest. I dont know if they are lazy for the request of their guest or something. They did not even a find solution for the request. Also During the check in process is slow and not in order of first come first serve basis. My overall stay in this hotel is not pleasant.

The room was big, the service were very nice and helpful, and everything was to detail. My only negative aspect is that the location is bit far from city centre, but you got public transportation to get there.

A new hotel designed to look old. The staff were mostly very nice and accommodating, although a couple of the very young men seemed more interested in what was on their phones than the guests. Breakfast is fine, but if you arrive late the buffet is not well replenished. The walls are very thin, I could hear everything in the next room. The location is near the sea, a quiet neighborhood with not much in walking distance. Overall clean, spacious and pleasant rooms. Probably best for someone who is working nearby.

Hotel is located close to the sea side, in a residential area next to the road to Qobustan. There are certainly more convenient/ central locations for both Tourists and Business Travelers. Rooms are large and surprisingly comfortable incl well-equipped bath rooms. Good breakfast buffet. Service nothing to rave about.

Impressed and just loved the classic interior design (European) of the hotel. The lobby, rooms, restaurant, bar are all very classically and beautifully designed and furnished. The furniture and fittings are like antiques art pieces. The lightings, ceilings and walls are just great to admire. Rooms are big and clean with spacious bathroom. Buffet breakfast was good with varieties.
