This is truly a place of exceptional natural beauty, stunningly situated, offering incredible amenities and luxuriously comfortable accommodation, all whilst being genuinely sensitive to the protection of the natural environment. It is serviced by a very talented, personable and highly efficient staff complement, under the very capable direction of Mr Stephane Duvacher. We simply loved it and definitely intend to revisit sometime in the future!

Perfect location

Too expensive for food and taxi to town

We booked this resort for a week during the supposed "rainy season," which made it a little cheaper, but we were very lucky with the weather and, looking back, we think this vacation was worth every penny. What a wonderful place in the middle of the rainforest in the northwest of Langkawi. Beautifully designed and furnished villas with every comfort you could wish for. Five restaurants with excellent food, great choice, and very friendly staff. A breakfast buffet that leaves nothing to be desired. There are two large pools, but we preferred the paradise-like (private and very clean) beach, which can be reached via a (butterfly) path (less than a 5-minute walk) through the jungle. Everyone is very friendly and tries to anticipate your every need. A five- (or even six-?) star resort, and I have never seen a more beautiful one. The only downside is that it is very remote, a property you don't want to leave during your stay. But there is enough to discover on the grounds. What I also really liked were the efforts toward sustainable management, trying to preserve the flora and fauna.

we loved the serenity , the service was excellent , the food was spectacular , the location was just what we were looking for. the view of the andaman sea and of the thai islands , the forest environment was perfect.

Amazing stay at The Datai Langkawi. We were here during low season and it was raining non stop for two days. Despite the weather, the staffs had done everything and more to ensure we had a pleasant stay. It was actually lovely listening to the showers of rain - we felt very calm and at peace.
