Boiler stond uit, we hadden geen warm water om te douchen, deze werd snel hersteld. Daarna 2 uur wachten op warm water :-( Er is geen afstandsbediening voor de airco. Dit moest via de receptie geregeld worden. Ivm het slechte weer wilde we opwarmen, maar voor de nacht de temperatuur weer wat lager stellen. Dit moest via de receptie.

There’s nothing not to like

Check in was very easy. Our place was ready and exactly as described. The location was great!

This place is one of the few semi-affordable options in the Skaftafell area. The cottage was slightly run-down, but it's a charming place and our kids really enjoyed it. We liked that all windows (except the door to the porch though!) had blackout roller shades: this helps to achieve a sense of night time during those long summer days.

The AC was noisy and could not be adjusted. There wasn't any remote and it was permanently set to 20 degrees Celsius. This is nice when you're home, but it's silly if you're away (which we were for most of the day) and we also don't need it at night when we're asleep. We ended up switching off the circuit (on which the AC was running) in the breaker box :) The kitchen really is too small (but we knew that) for proper cooking and poorly equipped.
