A lovely setting for a romantic break, the rooms are perfect

Just returned from a pleasant and relaxing stay at Long Beach Resort. It's a new place, less than a year old, run by a gentleman who goes by Tintin. It's located near the middle of the eponymous beach, a 45 minute walk one way (along the beach) to Sok San Village and an hour to the other end, where there's nothing more than a big resort and a concrete pier. There are several bungalows and a building with four smaller units. We didn't look into the smaller units, but definitely recommend the bungalows. They are big, clean, and both of the ones we occupied had incredible ocean views. Great to just hang out on the patio. Some towels had a moldy smell, but not a big deal. Rooms cleaned and towels changed upon request, not automatically. Wifi really only worked for us in the restaurant area. Beach and ocean were great (with caveats noted below). Squeaky white sand and water that was generally quite clean. Plenty of loungers right next to the water. This is not a fancy resort, just a nice small place that is well-run. Doors are lockable. Breakfast was fine. Restaurant worked fine for other meals. There's another restaurant next store, but head to Sok San Village for better offerings. (Exercise!) You get two small bottles of water at breakfast and will need more to survive. Only beer offered is Angkor and there is no fridge in room in case you want to store your own beverages. Staff distributed roses on Valentine's Day, which was a thoughtful touch. Really the only downside to our experience is that we were bitten by sand flies and are still itching, five days after leaving. They probably got us when we were right on the beach, either walking or lounger. Anyway, you've been warned. Be on the lookout and use serious insect repellent. Some garbage on other parts of the beach, but the beach area near the hotel is clean. Overall, staff were great, especially Tintin.

On an isolated part half way along the bay - beautiful situation . This is family run and the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. I don’t understand some of the other reviews. Maybe it is the attitude of the « city » customers. Food is good, simple and there is plenty of drink. Staff can’t do enough for you, but you may need to ask and point out what you need. Communication problems with the younger staff. You are reliant on a small boat to take you anywhere (great fun) ! Thanks Tin Tin

Nice: - beach is nice. - the room sizes are large enough and they are enclosed up. The showers have warm water and there is airconditioning. Bad: - thin wooden walls where you can here EVERYTHING. i am not kidding or exaggerating. Some time at 4 am in the middle of the night, the staff thought it would be a good time to sort out the glass bottles. -'Deluxe bungalow with sea view' is one without any windows facing the sea and just a sliding door. Below it is the storage for seafood, trash, and glass bottles so it stinks and is noisy. - staff here are so unmotivated. They take a good 20 mins before serving you when you seat. They have NEVER smiled. I am serious and meant it literally. - the food here are all served without rice (+1.50 USD) and the cooking here is not good. It is average but not tasty. And it costs a whooping 5 USD for a vegetable dish without rice. - breakfast is bad. The coffee here is horrible so dont go for coffee. The juice tasted like some medicine or sugar was added. The pancakes with honey or fruit is a joke. 4 slices packed on top of each other and 10 tiny cubes of fruits thats all. For honey, only the top pancake had some honey in the middle while the rest was dry and they dont even give a pot of honey. Breakfast is not buffet style mentioned on website, it is menu ordered style. - whatever is said on the booking.com or their website about the amenities is FALSE. There is no TV, no minibar, no daily water given if not prompted, no initiated room cleaning service, no windows for view, no coffee or tea maker, no cups, one dustbin for the toilet trash.....i can go on but i am exhausted. -the food here is very expensive for the island and for the standard, walk to the towns if you can. It is about a 45 min walk in the beach. We hate here so much that we are willing to do the walk almost everyday. -when we arrived at a pier and wanted to take the boat to the resort, the operator at speed island ferry called them and then they said they wont pick us up because the waves are too large. But honestly it was not. - then the towels, pillows, pillow covers, bed sheets, and curtains were filled with dried blood stains that didnt get removed probably because they were not washed well. The people here are not friendly. We feel scammed because they advertised themselves on booking.com + tripadvisor + homepage as a 4-star luxury hotel which is COMPLETELY FALSE. If they were honest and said simple and basic place then i would have accepted it. But the for the price paid? This is a scam resort. I am writing this review so that I can let everyone know about the truth and will be writing with tripadvisor and booking.com to see how it is possible they let this hotel lie about their accomendation. How can we trust such sites anymore?

They call this a resort, what a joke. First problem when you get here , you are stranded. They charge you for every transport moto is 10 dolar one way and boat is 8 per person. If you want to rent a svooter they charge 30 US and around the island the price is 10 to 15 US. Second thing breakfast is awfull. They dont clean the rooms unless you tell them and when they do OMG. Just dust off the tovels make the bed swipe the sand and thats it. Wifi is barely working here opose to keuch touch beach.

Our stay was great! Rooms were comfy and clean. Staff was very friendly and helpfull with everything! I would give 5/5 but there was about 20cm geggo living inside our room and it was loud by nights so that is why 4/5. Most of all we have a wonderfull time and the beach is amazing.

In 40 years of travel in Asia I have never been more disapppointed about a place to stay then during this stay at the Long beach resort. 80 % of the faciilties that are on their own website or on booking sites is. Not available in the rooms - no key to lock your room so anyone who passes by can just walk into your room without any problem and do whatever he wants to do - minibar: not even an empty fridge is in the room - in room safe: not available - tv: not available - cleaning: haven’t seen anyone to clean our room - towels are only changed if you go to the reception to ask - emails were not answered, they say they did not receive my emails and they did not get any messages via booking site either. Curious that they do recieve the bookings from the same source but no emails. - reserved a boat for snorkeling through the hotel and upon arrival at the boat the first thing they said was that we had to pay more, otherwise they would not take us on the trip. The manager just raises his shoulders when we tell him about this. The biggest problem is actually that the manager says they don’t care that we are not satisfied. If you can rip-off every customer once and you lake really good money. The good news: - the beach is superb - the bungalows are very spacious It is so sad we spent our festive holidays in this rip-off resort.

Long beach resort is on an island paradise which makes the resort unique.

What a location! Truely an island paradise. The view from our room was stunning. Great place to relax, take in all the shades of blue and green throughout the day and the pinks and yellows of the sunset. Tin Tin was amazing, nothing was too much trouble and he really made our stay most memorable. Would love to return soon!
