The room had no smoke alarm, the bedding was dirty and the pillow cases were dirty. The shower in the hotel room did not work, and the air conditioner didn’t work.

Stains on the pillowcase, the structure looks damaged, the bathroom lacks the necessary equipment for showering.

The pool was dirty and was closed but the staff didn’t inform the guest about the pool

Had roaches and refrigerator was literally froze open

They have no pools the beds were hard feels like getting bit by bed bugs it was horrible I didn't get any sleep

Our stay was for 2 nights. I chose this hotel because of it's close proximity to Ochsner's hospital at The Grove. My husband and I had several doctor appts. and tests over the next three days. Traffic in Baton Rouge is horrendous to say the least! Also mostly fast food and very few to no real sit-down restaurants in this area. But to be fair we didn't venture too far from our hotel for fear of getting lost and caught up in heavy traffic. Positives: The bed was very comfortable! The room was clean but needed vacuuming. The person working the front desk seemed very nice but had little to say. Negatives: Neither the fridge nor hair dryer worked, smoke detector was missing with bare wires left hanging! The bathroom was very small and the bottom of the vinyl (?) bathtub was cracked and would separate when stepped on! Breakfast bar was lacking and very limited! Although unattended, the area was surprisingly clean! Positives: You could make your own waffles. Choice of 3 dry cereals from a dispenser. Milk was poured from a pitcher that was kept in a small countertop fridge and was delightfully cold! Negatives: Nothing to drink but coffee and milk, which was in a pitcher. Juice machine present but no juice! A few biscuits, sliced white bread and stale, dry mini muffins. Oranges, the only fruit, were soft and needed to be thrown out weeks ago! Paper bag on floor used as trashcan. Overall, the hotel needs updating and a major "facelift"! The walls throughout need painting and other surfaces need to be wiped and clean. Lastly, every corner in this hotel needs to be cleaned! Starting with the ones in our bathroom and bedroom to the lobby and breakfast area and elevator! I think they do sweep and vacuum but miss all of the corners. It's the attention to detail that needs to be addressed! Big question: Would I stay here again? Maybe, maybe not. But what I will do is more research for next time!
