"Perfect place to stay in Kyoto"

10.0

Friendly and efficient check-in, well-equipped and clean town house in a quiet residential area, but easy to get to anywhere, and lots of cute restaurants nearby. Would highly recommend for a family stay in Kyoto.

"I don’t recommend. No storage at all and too small for 4 people."

6.0

Traditional design both from a street view perspective as well as in the interior. Staff promptly replied to our requests (via email). Bath tub is very nice.

Besides a storage at the entrance to keep big stuff, there is no storage at all. Not a single wardrobe, drawer nor a shelf. The room was too small for 2 beds and 2 futons. And with no storage available we tried to put the luggage open on the floor and it was impossible. So we decided to put 1 futon on the small living room after removing the tv and the table from there. It was a camping experience with our stuff spread on the floor. The toilet cabin was too small too. It was not clean as per Japanese standards - dust on the furniture and on the floor. We stayed on 5 hotels and this was the only one we did not like.

"Ok"

6.0

It had a traditional feel and was a good size.

The property was only cleaned once in 4 days, this would have been fine if the amenities were stocked for 2 days. There was enough coffee ect for 1 cup. Location wasn’t great. Was quite disappointed for the price. When checking in we had to go to a hotel location to collect keys. There were amenities for you to take to your room for the hotel guests, bath salts tea, coffee ect. This was not offered to us so I am assuming it was for the villas.

"Amazing and lovely traditional home, especially for 1-2 people"

9.0

It is an awesome traditional Japanese house with modern touches. It is very good for 2 people but with 4 it is a bit crowded. It has a stove, a bidet and both a tub and a shower. Tatami floor is beautiful and lovely to be walked on. It is a very silent and beautiful neighbourhood around.

Narrow and tiny toilet room. If 4 people book a single house you are sleeping in the same room, be wary of this.

"Clean and quaint, but not mobility issue friendly and a bit cramped."

6.0

The property is seperate from the check in location, it is a two story villa townhouse. The location is okay, bit far from the main city, about 20 minutes by bus. We mostly took buses as trains are not as spread out in Kyoto compared to Tokyo. The townhouse is quite compact. It has a washing machine which is convenient and a small kitchenette with a hot plate and kettle. There were three of us staying here, myself and husband upstairs in western style beds and my daughter who slept on a futon floor bed. The stairs are quite steep, if you have mobility issues I would not recommend this place. The bath is okay, however it is quite small, my daughter is a size 14-16 and she was a bit cramped in it. The pillows are also horrendously hard, not comfortable to sleep on multiple nights in a row. My daughter tried asking for an extra futon mattress as the one provided was quite thin, however it got lost in translation. Overall it is a nice place to stay, however a bit removed from city and local sights and not overall mobility and physical disability friendly.

"Cozy little japanese town house in peaceful neighborhood"

9.0

The small and charming japanese townhouse. We arrived at Rinn Kyoto Station hotel where we received keycards to our house and we left the luggage there, because it was too early to check-in. They transferred our luggage to the house before 16:00, which was nice. The house itself was very cozy, with living room and the bathroom at the ground floor, and bed room at 1st floor. There is also a microwave, small fridge and a washing machine in a separate room. The bathroom was nice and effective and we also enjoyed the bathtub partially inside/outside the house. There is also very small garden next to the bathtub. During our stay it was cold outside, so we were using heating from the A/C which was effective. The house is 7 minutes from the nearest bus stop, and around 10 minutes from the train stop (which is two stops from the main Kyoto Station). The neighborhood is very peaceful and calm with local houses and people.

Main bed on the 1st floor was very very soft (actually the softest bed I evere slept in). I was firstly afraid to sleep in it, but it was ok. There is no place to place clothes in the bedroom. The only one closet was locked, because of some service items.....I dont understand where we were supposed to put our clothes. The house itself is very small, so 4 people were more then enough to live there for 5 nights. I am 193cm and Ihad troubles to sit on the toilet, because the room is very small.
