The staff were fantastic! Went above and beyond to be helpful. The units were comfortable and the camp kitchen was exceptionally well equipped and spacious. Great BBQ area.

The internet wasn't very good. Every other place we stayed at during our 3 1/2 week trip around NZ had free unlimited wifi.

The campground it's self is nice,a little tired in places,the showers🚿 are hot /free & cleaned regularly, good pressure and hot,location was okay,local store only does takeaways till 6pm if you need them for dinner on your 1st night there and don't forget fly spray for wasps etc.

Please ensure you check with the office exactly what it is you are booking and that it's even available,the photos on the site we felt weren't current. The total muck around on our arrival and our room apparently being already rented to someone else and while the staff did show us other options....it wasn't what we had booked and already paid for online, The cabin/caravan we ended up in had been removed from the rental pool that morning apparently because previous guests had damaged it,however we found rot in ceiling, parts of the floors and mice droppings in the draws under the bed,left over rubbish from a previous guest under kitchen sink in the caravan part of the cabin and when it rained that night we had water running down the wall fairly close to power sockets. We were finally able to relocate to the actual room we pre booked & paid for on night 2 ,however due to wasps etc on an adjacent building and inadequate bed's etc ,we had another family that actually also prepaid drive hm because he was so annoyed at being ripped off. We prepaid through booking agency so we weren't able to get a refund easily and had driven a fair distance for a short family break or so we thought. (Don't forget your insect spray/epi pen if you need them) at the time we were there they had issues with wasps on the exterior of multiple buildings and as nice as some of the staff were it doesn't help if you have family that get stings etc and you can't get a refund.

Location is stunning. The creek and swimming holes are exceptional. Facilities are very good (shared toilets and showers). The wood ducks are too cute and way friendly! Will go back for sure.

Hot Showers too short, but understandable when trying to conserve water. Cabins need a fan. Also need a sliding fly screen door. That would make them just that little bit comfier...

we were not as prepared as we should have been for staying in a caravan ²
