The location was perfect for our bourbon trip, wonderful staff, and loved the 1933 end of Prohibition event

This was the second time staying at the Hotel Distil. The first time was kind of magical - room with a view overlooking main street was so cool - the old facade and steel girders are a sight to see. We felt special as soon as walked in. Thats hard to beat. This time, I opt’d for a “city view” - it was pretty dull by comparison. The room was nice and clean, with a great shower and bathroom. The beds are a step above most hotels - very comfortable with supportive pillows! The Repeal restaurant attached to the hotel has an amazing bar with great bartenders. They offer suggestions and tailor the experience to you. The restaurant itself was nice. We had dinner one night and breakfast two days - food was delicious and service was good. The menu seemed limited and not very exciting. The Hotel Distil is a great place to stay when visiting downtown Louisville. The location is the best - with walking distance to so much. The hotel staff were helpful, engaged and all seem to like working there. That speaks volumes.

Hotel and rooms are very clean, the staff are really friendly, and the area around the hotel is walkable. The hotel is conveniently located next to bars and restaurants (there are some on the same block and across the street). In the room, the bed was comfy and there was plenty of ample lighting and amenities. I would highly recommend and would stay here again.

Spent a few days in Louisville on the way back to Michigan and stayed at the Hotel Distil, which is a great spot to stay in a really cool town. Right on Whiskey Row, it's in an amazing location. The staff were great; very courteous, professional and helpful from the valet to front desk to housekeeping. Overall, the hotel was very clean and hip. Our room was very cool, with a good view of Whiskey Row, and served us well. The overall vibe is retro chic, matching the bourbon soaked history of the region. The hotel restaurant and bar, called Repeal, was very nice. I'll review Repeal in more detail separately, but we thoroughly enjoyed our time at the bar. The bar team (Mason, Clayton, Alyssa and Cassie) were fantastic. We had breakfast our first morning and it was very nice with great service. We tried to do so again the next morning but were rudely told by the hostess that her empty restaurant (at 8 am on a Wednesday) was booked and since we didn't have a reservation we'd have to wait 30-40 minutes. We had a free breakfast from our hotel but didn't use it due to the rude hostess and her "reservations". Reflected poorly on the hotel, but didn't ruin our overall trip. The hotel is five stars but I'd drop it to 4.5 if I could due to the restaurant. We'll be back to the Hotel Distil and would highly recommend it. Just don't try and eat breakfast...

We loved the hotel! Charming history and modern comfort. We loved the toast to the end of Prohibition and the delicious Repeal. The rooms are comfortable and have great bathrooms. The staff is excellent and attentive. Water available too! We will visit again!

The hotel is an excellent location for experiencing the bourbon distilleries in Louisville, centrally located to most. It was also pretty quiet for being in the city. As a light sleeper, I’m very sensitive to noise at night. They were nice enough to put us on the top floor so very quiet. Some road noise could still be heard but settled after 11pm. As others have stated, the rooms are rather small but really you aren’t really in the room much with all activities. Bed was super comfy and shower was great. Also as others have said, park on your own instead of paying valet, it’s super easy.
