Americas Best Value Inn Champaign

The room was big.

The place was dirty. My room had roaches in it. The breakfast... I did not eat because it looked old and moldy.

It was in need of a refresh the walls needed to be painted the tub, toilet and shower had stains, the halls smelled of weed. When you walk in it’s not very welcoming with signs all over: there was bullet proof glass at check in window no one there at checkout. Definitely just a place to sleep and shower!

Not much of a breakfast. The Jack, the room rate because of the busy weekend. it was definitely not a $250 a night hotel.

A/C worked

Took a while for someone to come to window to check in, hall and room bathroom smelled like Marijuana and never went away, was late and had to pay $385 for 1 night, this is a $50/ nigh hotel

Location was good. At first we couldn’t get ahold of the host, but when he did show up, he was very nice, and tried to be helpful.

We paid for a non-smoking room, but when we opened the door, the smell of smoke was overpowering. When we complained, the host was unable to do anything about it, as there were no other available rooms. He offered us spray. Wherever we had to spend time in the room, we had to air it out with the window and door wide open to allow the air to blow through.

Convenience to highway, housekeepers did a good job with run down building. Staff polite.

Needs to be updated, paint would go a long way. Curtains with tears, paper signs everywhere threatening to call police, cannot access outside doors with key card. Numerous bugs in room.
