Cenobio Hotel & SPA Matera

Absolument magnifique la plus belle étape de notre séjour, des chambres troglodytes contemporaines et un style de très bon goût. la vue est extraordinaire, un des plus beaux hôtels et très original. le personnel très serviable il faut écouter leurs conseils notamment la navette depuis le parking c’est indispensable !

Magnifique établissement à la hauteur de nos attentes ! Le personnel très accueillant surtout le monsieur qui est venu nous chercher et qui nous a raccompagné en portant nos valises ! Merci à vous La chambre etait spacieuse et tout était très bien équipée ! Une magnifique vue en prime sur les gorges ! Très belle adresse !

Un peu à l’écart et difficile d’accès mais cela est la cas si vous visitez Matera ! Il faut etre bien équipé (oubliez les petites sandales !) cependant cet Hotel est à l’écart du bruit (c’est un plus !)

Supermysigt och charmigt rum i grottmiljö. Vi bodde i en av sviterna, nr 3. Jättetrevlig personal och god frukost. Kom ihåg att beställa omelett av personalen på frukosten, väldigt god! Läget var perfekt för promenader runt staden.

Det kan vara bra att känna till att eftersom man bor i grottrum, så finns det inga dörrar inne på rummet som avgränsar ex till toaletten. 😄

Great location, super clean, comfortable and updated rooms within an old structure. Staff were responsive and helpful. Samir was exceptional - helping with luggage, directions, etc.

Pool/spa is misleading. It’s a significant extra charge - 70 euro per person (or 190 euro for a family of 4!?!). Our bedroom TV turned on spontaneously in the middle of the night for 2 seconds and then turned off again. Very strange.

Excellent location, the room was clean, breakfast was fine

The hotel is perfectly located, overlooking the scenic hills, but we didn’t get to enjoy this because the room had no window and no sitting corner in front (they could have easily arranged that, multiple cave locations in town do it). Very bad air inside despite of a (quite loud) humidifier which had to constantly stay on. On a warm day, the humidifier was set on ‘heat’ and the reception explained us that the heating cannot be turned off, so despite of several remotes on the walls, the temperature was impossible to regulate. The result was 28 degrees at night - combined with the humidity it meant no sleep for the whole family after 3am. This could have been understandable for a regular AirBnB (after all, it is a cave indeed), but it’s not OK for a very expensive ‘suit with jacuzzi’ in a 4-star-hotel (not to mention the jacuzzi was also not fully functional - some things got fixed by a nice guy upon our arrival, others we had to figure ourselves…). I hope the staff will take this complaint in a constructive way - they really need to lower the expectations, describe honestly that the suite has no window, no view and no proper ventilation, and balance the price-quiality ratio accordingly so this doesn’t feel like a tourist trap.
