Hotel Kado Gosho-Minami Kyoto

Service staff were excellent and very friendly, they went the extra miles to answer our queries.

Great location, 2 mins to subway stn and in 10 mins you will be at Kyoto stn. At the corner of the Kyoto Gyoen National Garden which is a huge 65 hectares garden. The apartment is well designed with comfortable mattress, kitchen, washer/dryer. The appliances TV, Fridge, washer are of the Sharp brand. The highlight is the cypress bath tub that's great soaking after many hours of walking. The roof terrace is a good place to take sunrise and sunset pictures.

A sofa would be good. There's no light in the cupboard.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel apartment. The place was nice and decorated nicely - Staff are friendly and helpful, though they do not speak much English (though we don't speak much Japanese either!) They were very helpful with sending and receiving our luggage via Takkyubin service which was hugely appreciated. The room was very clean and this was maintained well throughout our stay. There is a roof terrace which is nice too! Location very good, right next to a subway station and we loved visiting the park across the road each day too. Family Mart across the road and a lovely ramen restaurant next door too. Thank you, HotelKADO!

When you first walk in you think "wow" but on closer inspection a few things weren't quite as good as we first thought - for example the washing machine was not easy to operate, and neither was the toaster, we couldnt get the stove top to work at all and the charging dock by one of the beds didn't work either. These were only small things and probably just user error. We actually didn't raise this with staff either as the problems weren't that important to us, so they may have been able to help us. It also would have been lovely to have either a TV in the bedroom or comfortable seating in the living area - watching tv around the dining table at the end of the day wasn't super comfortable. I understand space in Kyoto is limited though and this isn't a big issue!

Location next to metro access was helpful. Room very comfortable with bed, large bath. Washing machine in the room, no facilities to hang clothes out.
