Motel Happy Salmon

The room was clean but the smell was terrible, and it got way worse when the AC was on.

Clean, cozy, roomy, excellent motel. Location is excellent.

Check in was easy. Large room with kitchenette and very clean and comfortable. Grounds were very clean and had nice seating area on the lawn. It is right in the highway and a little ways from town but was happy with the size of room and how clean it was. If just passing through and not needing to be right in town this is a great place to stay

Extremely last-minute reservation, but it seems to be overpriced for the kind of amenities is available in the rooms. There isn’t a sofa or a couch to sit on.

For an overnight stay Motel Happy Salmon provided a clean comfortable room in a convenient location. The motel is newly renovated in a pleasant style. There is a terrific pub in Canoe Village at the lake, a short walk down the hill from the motel.

The pictures online are not exactly what we got. The TV is in the sitting area, not the bedroom, and there were two very uncomfortable chairs to sit on. The chairs were one step up from folding chairs. There was a small circular table that was wobbly, but that was it. We had traveled for 8 hours, were tired, and just wanted to rest. That was not possible due to the lack of comfortable chairs/furniture, and the fact that there was no TV in the bedroom, as the pictures show. The fridge was not plugged in when we got there, and it was 33 degrees Celsius. We had to leave our food in our cooler. There was also only one light for the entire main area, which was very poor. For $188/night CAD, this was a ripoff. I didn't expect four stars, but the pictures were deceiving, and not having a cold fridge (which we paid for) was unacceptable. The highway noise was terrible. I would not recommend this place to anyone, nor will I ever stay here again. The cost does not come anywhere near the quality.
