Extended Stay America Suites - Kansas City - South

This seems more like a homeless shelter than a safe place travelers should stay.

This was a dump, person at the desk was rude and condescending. Room was dated and had several haphazard repairs that just increased the tackiness. No cups no coffee maker no breakfast at least that I was told about. 1$ per call surcharge. Tile floor which was ok but walking on it made my white socks black Never again will I stay at this hotel

spotted a roach crawling on the counter. asked if there was a laundry room and the person behind the desk pointed me in the direction of where it was at. When I got in there it had 4 washers and 4 dryers and all but one washer and one dryer had OOS stickers on them. asked the front desk if they sold any detergent and they said no. i understand that it is an extended stay but if they are going to cater to 1 or 2 day stayers they should at least have vending with detergent. It was a no cash facility so everything was by card only and the vending machines didn't even work. For the facility to be non smoking the halls sure did reek of marihuana.

I will never stay here again. My husband and I’s room didn’t look that bad but the whole hotel smelled awful. You walk into the elevator and want to gag. My mother in laws room had bugs, and not just tiny bugs either. They looked like cockroaches crawling up the walls, the fridge had what looked like mold on the outside door and mold on the floor in the bathroom. We didn’t feel safe, definitely somewhere you want to make sure all of your door locks are locked and secure before you go to bed, keeping a light on. The only real thing that looked clean was the sheets. It was cheap, yes, but I have stayed in nicer hotels for the same price. Needless to say, the photos made it look way nicer than it was and we paid for two nights but stayed for one.

The closeness to work

I felt very uncomfortable when I pulled into the parking lot. As a white female traveling alone, this was not a place I felt comfortable staying. I didn’t even get out of the car. I had to try to find another place to stay on the fly.

The urine splatters on the toilet were a disappointment. Needing to take my own trash out, not good. Dog poop, literally, in the corridor. I have to sleep but I won't even shower in this filthy establishment. Also only upon check in was a $100 dollar deposit required in addition to the surprise $25/pet fee. I'm not given to exaggerating, and this is absolutely the worst hotel motel experience I've had.

What I liked was the price but you do get what you pay for.

There breakfast was just coffee and j my muffin. It was a sad moment for my honeymoon.

I woke up the next morning with bites all over me.
