Great location, friendly and helpful staff, and excellent breakfast.

Airport transfer organised by the hotel was excellent. Room initially looked very good, as we were upgraded to a corner suite. Decent waterside view and included amenities. Initial welcome from staff also good. Room service food was tasty, though not as hot as one would hope.

Breakfast was poor with slow service. There was a reasonable choice of cooked items on the first morning, but less on subsequent mornings. Equivalent to a cheap chain hotel in the UK. Some room fittings seemed lacking in maintenance. Bathroom doors difficult to latch closed, for example. Some lights not working. I investigated one and it was because the light had a continental 2 pin round plug but the socket on the wall was a UK style 3 pin one! Check out was chaotic. Many guests were, like us, joining a cruise, so chose to check out just before 11am, the latest available. Queues for lifts were long and my room key timed out. I took my wife (in a wheelchair) to the lift and waited for a lift, expecting to be able to return to the room for our luggage. The room key had other ideas! In the end a helpful member of staff did come back to the room with me to help, as she saw how annoyed I was - this is not how to run a hotel! We had reserved a taxi to the port for a specific time, via the front desk, along with many others. That time came and went and staff did not provide any management of the situation. Ok, it was a busy time, but they would have known it was likely to happen and should have tackled it better. In terms of meals, we had room service for 2 nights. The Brasserie was a fixed price buffet throughout our stay due to the New Year holiday and the other alternative was an Asian fusion menu which didn’t appeal. This limitation was not stated until we arrived at the hotel. Access to the restaurant area with a wheelchair is difficult. There is a chairlift fitted to the steps down from the foyer, but this was switched off and covered up throughout our visit. One staff member said it would be possible to arrange accompanied access via a service lift but we didn’t try it. It was possible to go outside and come in via the terrace bar, with only one step, which we managed. Workable but surprising in a hotel which describes itself as 5 star.

Beautiful property on the water. Meals on the terrace were so relaxing. Locally influenced meals and a great outdoor bar. Rooms were very well appointed with great waterfront views , very comfortable beds and lovely spacious bathroom . Loved the open view elevator. Lovely, attentive staff. We will definitely return!!!

The cuisine was absolutely outstanding! Both breakfast and dinner were exceptional – the presentation of dishes, the professionalism of the waiters, and the quality of the food were simply impeccable. Five stars for the restaurant without a doubt! That said, the restaurant staff were amazing – smiling, attentive, and true professionals. The gentleman in charge of breakfast was fantastic. They remembered what tea my son had the day before and really tried to make us feel welcome. Overall, we enjoyed the food, but the rest of the experience was far from five stars.

Unfortunately, everything else was a disappointment. Our first room had extreme humidity and condensation running down the walls. Our clothes were damp. We were moved to another room, and I must say the manager, David or Denis (may be wrong with the name), was genuinely helpful and kind. However, the room key card failed four times. During the first few days, we kept going back to reception, where we were told we were storing the card key incorrectly. But even after they reprogrammed it and tested it themselves, it still didn’t work – and they didn’t even apologize. The pool was in an unsanitary condition. On the first day, we used the pool and found a plastic bottle floating in it. We thought, “Okay, it happens.” We informed several staff members and were assured the pool is cleaned every evening after 10 PM. Two days later, when we returned, the same bottle was still there! Clearly, the pool is not cleaned. Moreover, the filter wasn’t working, so the water wasn’t being refreshed. The plaster in the pool was peeling off – you had to watch your step. The neighboring pool in the sister hotel was even worse: broken mosaic tiles lying on the bottom, which could easily injure your feet. Apparently, that pool isn’t cleaned either. Unfortunately, we did get injured at this hotel – not in the pool, but during breakfast. My 9-year-old son (28 kg, not a 1000!) leaned on the back of his chair, which was so old that it literally collapsed. The backrest broke, he fell, and cut his hand on glass shards from the glass he was holding. Reception was very unprofessional. We constantly received contradictory information – about the cost of dinner for HB guests (1500 per person, later - 1250 and finally - 1/2 amount for a kid), and they didn’t know how the spa worked. On the last day, they tried to charge us for drinks at dinner that we never ordered. Later they said, “Oh, sorry, our mistake.

Die Unterkunft liegt sehr zentral, so dass man alle Sehenswürdigkeiten oder gar Shopping zu Fuß erreichen kann. Wir haben netterweise ein Upgrade erhalten und konnte die Lounge im 6. Stockwerk nutzen. Summarum eine ideale Lokation, um Port Louis zu erkunden. Das Frühstück und Essen ( Thairestaurant) waren sehr gut. Man konnte sich zu dem Frühstücksbuffet immer noch etwas dazugestellt wie z.B. Omlet oder andere leckere Sachen.
