Porto Premium River View I

Amazing views of the passing boats and the port wineries opposite. The apartment was on the 1st floor up 14 winding lit stairs, off a cobbled alleyway leading to the riverfront , lined with cafes. Inside the apartment with 20 m span, the kitchen is very well stocked- never worked out how the hob works. Microwave essential. Bathroom great.. Shutters kept out the cool morning air. Comfortable lounge. Large tv.

Lift not working. Slippy rugs - we rolled them up while there. Doors locks needing memory of the 2 entry codes.

Great location at the edge of the Ribeira district. The living room was spacious and had three windows directly overlooking the Douro river. Long term parking was available just a few metres away.

Nothing in particular. The only minor issue was that, although there was a Nespresso coffee machine, there were only four pods, surely not adequate for two persons for three nights. We bought our own.

The property is AMAZING, really beautiful in a perfect location - out of the hussle and bussle but was only around the corner so easy to get to (2 min walk) and actually not far from everywhere else (Porto is small, e.g. it's only a 30 minute walk to the Boa train station). The apartment has an great view directly across to the Port cellars, there is a restaurant underneath with a few tables out on the small walkway at the front, so some noise during the evening and after closing time, but nothing too much. The bedroom has a large bed (perfect) and the wooden shutters did a surprisingly good job at removing the sunlight. The bathroom is really well designed and has everything you need and a wonderful shower. Communication from the vendor was really good with good instructions for arrival - the free taxi from airport was really appreciated (we took the train when leaving, which was easy and cheap). (In the kitchen every area had a photo of what was in there and how it should look - LOVE IT!!!!!)

Apart from the loose bathroom tap which should have been identified and fixed before anyone stayed there, there was an obvious electrical issue which again should have been identified and fixed before a booking. In the bedroom of the 6 power sockets, only 1 worked, so we couldn't charge our phones by our bedsides as normal. The kitchen had no power, so we had to use the corridor floor sockets for using the Nespresso machine and kettle. Not a deal breaker, but should not be expected. (We didn't ask for it to be fixed immediately as it was the weekend, it wouldn't have been a quick fix so we didn't want the little time in the apartment to be full of work/mess, and using the floor sockets was possible). The kitchen also had 2 ceiling lights, 1 of which flickered/didn't work.

We thouroughly enjoyed our 5 night stay in Porto. Communication with the apartment before and during our stay was excellent. We had a slight problem with the door access but this was sorted out very quickly by a what's app phonecall. The apartment itself is lovely. It is very well appointed and very clean. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need and more. The lounge is the crowning glory. The view over the Douro is magnificent and always changing. We opted to have breakfast in the apartment to simply enjoy the view. The bed was very comfortable and any noise from the streets did not cause us any problems. The location was absolutely perfect. We will certainly return when we next visit Porto.

Excellent location. We felt like minor noblemen. Very close to public transport, restaurants and historical sites. Spectacular view.
