Isla Retreat - Donnini Apartments

Great location for walks on the beach and short distance to town centre. Initial contact with host was excellent. I contacted the host by phone due to a travel cancellation elsewhere. The host immediately answered my questions and provided me with details requested at short notice whilst also being very reassuring and supportive.

The apartment is in a fantastic location, close to local shops and amenities, with a lovely view out over the water. It was light, airy and we had ample space for the 2 of us. The proximity to the beach was a real bonus, although the weather wasn't the kindest when we stayed.

It just needs a tiny bit of TLC. There were just the odd scuffs and scratches, and the TV remote was missing in action. It's a really simple fix, a lick of paint and a refresh of some of the furniture and it'd be top notch. Although this isn't something the hosts have control over, something to be aware of is that the lift is very small so when arriving and departing with luggage it can be a squeeze.

Your facility is very nice overall. We enjoyed the location and the views. The floors are very squeaky which made our late night returns awkward. We also struggled with getting hot water at the kitchen sink and with extreme pipe hammering whenever hot water was turned on or off in the bathroom. Having the washing machine was a nice luxury for long term travelers, but we found the dryer function beyond our ability to operate. The beds were quite comfortable and the overall cleanliness of the facility very good. We did try asking for help via the website helpdesk, but over six days never got a response even though the welcome site says it is manned daily. We would stay here again if the need arose.
